Black

Hi! It’s Maria.

The color of the day is black.

I’ve been accused of choosing bright orange and other strange colors.

Not today! My co-blogger is leaving for college in about 18 hours. This is the quilt that she will spend very few hours sleeping under. Lexi and I picked out the pattern and fabric, her grandma pieced it, and I quilted and bound it. (Except that the binding isn’t stitched yet.) She’s living in the same dorm that I lived in. Yes, they have replaced the mattresses. It’s a very funny feeling. I’m not going to get too sappy today, but hit the deck next week!!!

To my MQP friends, I promise I’ll quit being the “sucky longarmer” and graduate from pantos soon.

And because this is first and foremost a knitting blog, I have a finished project.

Shetland Triangle Shawl by Evelyn Clark

The book is Wrap Style by Interweave

The yarn is Ritratto by S. Charles.

It was knit in about four days.

My co-blogger hated this yarn. She said it looked cheap and tacky. She really liked the finished project though. That’s the magic of lace.

Be prepared for lots of crazy colors in the future!!!

Hey Lexi, how does my new quilt marchine room your bedroom look?

I really like that quilt! I have tons of black and white prints, so now have another idea for them. I have only done a smidge of kitting, but my mother used to knit all the time. I love that shawl!

I love your quilt and love your colors too, great job! The pattern looks like fun! For one the blue is beautiful and a perfect color for a bedroom, I’ve been told. Soothing and relaxing color. I use to really like orange, but I think I burned myself out on it in the seventies. I even had a tri-colored orange carpet in my family room that lasted for years and never showed dirt of if a spark or something jumped out of the fireplcae it did not burn~ I kind of dodge orange now.
