The Miracles of Steam Blocking

19 10 2007

Hi, it’s Maria.

I love my Rowenta steam generator iron. I blocked Mr. Greenjeans in about 10 minutes. Why didn’t I just do it on Monday, I ask???

Do you think steam blocking would work on the wrinkles on my neck and the roll on my stomach? Steam blocking isn’t THAT much of a miracle, I suspect.

And a shot of the back….and yes, I do play the piano. Maybe I should say I used to play the piano , but now I knit. For all of you Burt Bachrach fans, I was playing “This Guy’s in Love,” the only song I can play without music.

I also have a cuff shot.

The specs:

Mr Greenjeans on Knitty

Fiesta Boomerang Yarn (absolutely yummy!)

Colorway Wild Oak

I used almost all of 4 skeins.

The only mod I made was doing the make one increase two stitches in on the v neck. It made for a smoother line to pick up the stitches for the front band. The whole thing could have been a little bit bigger, and a bit longer. I’m still waiting for my glass button, so I’ll add a photo when that comes.

Lexi and I have had requests for a photo of the two of us knitting together. There’s a problem with that. We haven’t looked very lovely the last couple of days. Actually, we’ve looked downright scary. So, for today, you get a photo of all the things that two knitters with ADD have worked on this week.

We’ll provide more info (and maybe a photo of the two of us) tomorrow.

Hey Lexi, are you going to stay awake all day today?

Your Greenjeans looks fabulous! I am enjoying this pattern so much. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Fiesta Boomerang here. I am making mine in Lorna’s Laces Shepard Worsted. It’s lovely to work with.

Blocking is amazing huh? It’s like a miracle every time :-).
