Goodbye!!!

The kids don’t have school on Thursday and Friday, so we’re headed to Wisconsin Dells.

There will be knitting, waterparking, biking, eating, campfires, school shopping, and more.  I’ll update soon if I have internet access!

Yes, I started a sweater for My Hero with the new red yarn.  You’ll just have to wait!

Gotta run!  The kids are waiting.

(No, that’s not our dog, but she’s cute!)

New Fall Stuff!

It’s definitely fall here in Minnesota today.  It’s only 57 degrees and really windy.

I can’t believe I haven’t posted in almost a week!  My Hero and I spent 4 days visiting The Genius.  I can’t believe I have a junior in college.  I’m not that old…once I cover all my gray hair!  Superblonde went with us too.  She needed some sister time.

I did manage to sneak in to Loops.  I just love that place.  I won’t tell you what I bought.  Let’s just say they were happy to see The Genius and I.  The Genius was happy that mom’s credit card was along too!!!

I did start a new project last week.  It’s the Looking Glass Sweater.  (Rav link)

The yarn is Numma Numma Texas Toasty. The colorway is Blue Corn Masa.  The contrasting color is two different colors of Silk Garden Lite.  I pilfered from two totally different colorways.  I maybe could have done better, but I didn’t want to wait to start it.  I pulled from my stash!  Aren’t you proud of me.

Guess what I got?  In the last post I showed you my Rendezvous cardigan made with Blue Moon Fiber Arts Twisted.  I loved the yarn so much, I ordered it in two different colors.

The top yarn is Brick and it’s going to be a sweater for My Hero.

The other colorway is called Gail’s Autumm Joy and it’s mine!!!  I don’t know what I’m going to do with it yet.  Any suggestions?

Time to hit the shower and get ready to chase with the kids.  I’ll try to post more than once a week!

My Ten Day Rendezvous

Doesn’t that sound exciting???  Actually, it was.  I finished my Rendezvous sweater in ten days.  I’ve never knit a sweater that quickly in my life.  (It helped that my mom was here and we sat around and knit a lot!!!)

I can’t even begin to tell you how pleased I am with this sweater.  (I’d be more pleased if my body looked better, but I can’t fix that over night!)  The pattern, a new one by Glenna of crazy knitting lady fame, has such great detail.  For instance, notice the three garter rows at the high waist.  Such a minor thing, but it really adds.

I love the cables, the moss stitch, and the stockinette along the sides.

I also have a new favorite yarn.  It’s Blue Moon Fiber Arts Twisted in Spinel.  I made the 47″ bust size, and only used 3 skeins.  (I’ve ordered this yarn in two more colors!)

Speaking of detail, look at that cuff.  I debated doing long sleeves, but decided to trust Glenna and do the 3/4 sleeves, and I’m glad I did.

I may redo the bindoff on the collar.  It seems to be pulling just a big.  Oh, and guess what?  I haven’t blocked this sweater yet.  What can I say?  I love the yarn, and Glenna is a genius!

We spent the weekend camping for Frankie’s birthday.  Do you think he had fun?  He and a friend put miles on that four wheeler.  There was also paintballing involved.  There are a whole bunch of trees with yellow paint on them!

Georgie (the dog) had such a dilemma this weekend.  She loves to sleep, and there was so much going on.  If she fell asleep, she’d miss something.  Here she is on Monday morning.  She slept there for most of the day!

That’s our dirty laundry from camping.  I gotta get busy!!!

Oh, and check out the stash sale in the last post.

Stash Reduction “Crazy” Style

It’s time!!!  I need to get rid of some yarn.  A bunch of yarn.  I’ve got sweater quantities of lot of yarns, as well and a bunch of sock yarns and laceweight.  Most of it is great stuff.  I just can’t possibly knit it all in this lifetime.  I’m just going to start with a few things.  There’s a ton more where this came from!!!  So here’s the deal:

*Look over the yarns I have for sale.

*If you see something you’d like to purchase, click on the “contact me” tab at the top of the page.  Tell me the number of the batch or batches that you’d like to purchase.  Make sure you include your email address.  (I think I get it automatically, but I’m not sure.)

*I will respond to the emails in the order that I receive them.  If someone else is faster than you and the yarn is already sold, I’ll let you know.  I will then send a paypal invoice to you.  (Please be nice to me and try not to change your mind.  My children play that trick on me often enough!)

*I’m going to use USPS prepaid boxes to ship.  Hopefully, that will protect my remaining sanity.  If you purchase more than one batch of yarn, I will try to get it all in the smallest box possible, thereby saving you money on shipping, so you can buy more yarn!!!

* I’m getting most of my retail prices from Yarndex.  It may be cheaper elsewhere, but this is the easiest way for me to figure out pricing.    I’m not trying to trick anyone!  Feel free to research!

*Most yarn was stored in Rubbermaid bins!
