Ok, so it’s already afternoon. I’ve gotten a lot done this morning!
1. My Hero and I had a 6:30 AM meeting for our new building at the kids’ school.
2. I was at the grocery store at 8:15.
3. At 8:55, I was eating a Subway breakfast sandwich. Yum!
4. I put groceries away.
5. I had to clean my bathroom. When you use the edge of the bathtub as a clothes bar long enough, it makes it really hard to get near the bathtub.
While I was cleaning my bathroom, I found some skeins of yarn waiting for a bath. I decided to quick take a few photos and do a blog post. (Remind me to finish cleaning the bathroom when I’m done writing this post.)
First up is 514 yards of polwarth I purchased on a destash. It’s from Four Rivers Yarn & Fiber. It’s called Shock The Monkey. It was my Thanksgiving weekend spinning project. Polwarth is so much fun to spin!

Next up is something I thought would end up so ugly! This skein is all of my leftovers from everything I’ve spun. I navajo plied it, and I think it wants to be a scarf. I have no idea what the yardage is, but I’ll eventually have more. What a fun surprise!

I also finished a shawl that I knit with some handspun. The pattern is Shaelyn by Leila Raabe. I started it at SOAR so I’d have something relatively brainless to knit. The photo does not do it justice. There’s lots of glitz in it that you don’t see.

I also just finished up a mystery cowl that I’ll show as soon as I figure out buttons. It’s blocking right now!
And now its time to finish cleaning that bathroom! After that, I’m back to that gorgeous black and gold Christmas fabric from the last post. I’m loving how it’s turning out.
I’m also thinking I may need to join this lazy bum for a quick nap later this afternoon. She’s always up for a good snuggle.

I hope you got your nap and your clean bathroom! Love the bits of sparkle I see in your orange shawl and as always, your spinning is just lovely. Your leftovers don’t look like leftovers at all!

Nice yarn. Adorable dog.

Have you seen those little Cricket looms or the Ashford Knitters’ looms? They are simple, small rigid heddle looms—the perfect gateway drug into weaving. (!) I have accumulated several 4-oz. braids of painted roving, and I’m trying to spin them all into similar weight yarns so I can weave some scarves. I am anxious to see how my handspun looks in woven fabric. (Your dog is too cute.)

I have looked at smaller looms a little bit. However, I’d like to take some lessons, and probably purchase something bigger. I’ll probably wait until I have fewer kids at home and take a chunk of time to study up!
