Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

It’s the Hallelujah Chorus!!!

Hey, it’s Maria.

All five of my kids are in school. It’s the first time in 18 years that I’m home by myself, except for the puppy eyes I fell for.

She enjoyed camping a lot more than I did. It was 90 degrees again!!!

Speaking of camping, here was the list of things I was going to knit:

1. Mystery Stole I finished it!!!

2. August Socks that Rock socks- I’m half way down the foot on the first one.

3. Peacock Shawl-Didn’t touch it, but joined the ravelry KAL

4. Kauni Project (I know I promised a blog post on this one.)-Didn’t touch it.

5. Lady Eleanor Shawl-I added several tiers!!!

Lady Eleanor was perfect Nascar knitting.

Now, for the best part of the weekend. #2 kid and our former Mary Poppins have been growing their hair out for 2 years for Locks of Love.

Look how long their hair was! Locks of Love needs about 10 inches and it takes the hair of six people to make a wig. In K’s case (first photo) they may have only needed 5 people. It took over a minute to saw through her pony tail. Here’s the end result. They both look awesome. What a way to lose weight!

I do think it made #2 kid a little loopy though.

OK, it’s time to get busy. Here’s my cutting table in my sewing room:

Do you see a problem with that?

Hey Lexi, does your dorm room look better than my sewing room?

  1. Yeah for them doing Locks of Love!!! My friend, her Mother, and her husband recently donated theirs to Locks of Love. Yes, all three!! The husband’s hair was the longest!!!

  2. I wanna be you when I grow up. Ours is just 29 foot pull behind. No TV underneath! But it works for NASCAR right now.

  3. What a wonderful thing to do-locks of love! Kudo’s to your daughter!!
