Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

No, You Don’t Have to File a Missing Knitter Case

Hey, Lexi Here

Ah, the hectic weeks of school. But, fall break is almost here! Then things will slow down.

So I have project ADD. This is Ginger:

Her sleeves are done. Why did I start with the sleeves? I don’t know. I just felt like it, and besides, it’s my knitting, I can do whatever I want. As you can see, the body is on the needles. The bottom band is done, and now I’m on the main part. I’m going to have to insert some shaping, because the pattern doesn’t have any, and it looks as though it need some.

I also started this:

For an unnamed person. It is ecologic cotton, and it will be amazing, as long as I remember to pick up that dropped stitch in the picture. Ok, I picked it back up, we can breathe now. It’s going to be very nice. If you can’t see in the picture, it is a very pale green. Very pale.

So mom, do I still have a place to sleep, or did you buy a hot tub too?

  1. Ooooooh! Hot tub. Good idea!

  2. I just recently got that pattern myself! (The second sweater) I haven’t got the yarn yet though… can’t wait to see how that turns out!

  3. Where can I find the pattern for Ginger? I love it!

  4. I too LOVE the pattern for Ginger, AND my real name is also Shirley…my kids added the “Pearly” part. Would you be so kind as to share the pattern source for Ginger? Look what you’ve inspired! You know what they say is the sincerest form of flattery! Thanx!

  5. Hi Shirley–The pattern reminds me of another top down shaped cardigan–one I’m working on right now. But I like the addition of the cables.

  6. Your Ginger sweater is similar to the Minimalist Cardigan in the fall issue of Interweave Knits, both red too! But still, your Ginger is soo much nicer, The cable and not having to do all that all over moss stitch, just makes me drool. If I were advanved enough I’d make it with raglan sleeves, but Ginger is still perfect as she is. Be sure to share the FO when it’s done.
