Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Elves Land in Minnesota

Hey, it’s Maria.

Santa was good to me today. He sent me some elves!!!

This one is in pajamas!

And this one is just plain cute!

Georgie girl got in on the action.

She can grab some air!

The elves thought they needed to eat! And Mary Poppins showed up.

I dressed for the occasion.

I never thought I’d be reduced to the camera in the mirror deal, but my elves were busy. This photo is for my friend C. She hates my Christmas scarf. It’s knit with ribbon yarn, eyelash yarn, and cheap Wal-Mart beads. I love it. The christmas present earrings are from 1986. You want to see a close-up of my gorgeous scarf?

I don’t know why my friend C complains about my scarf. She’s so tacky, she bought me this on clearance.

She said it made her think of me. I guess that means I’m tacky. Yes!!!!!

Here’s the work of my elves.

This is our kid junk tree. I love it.

Look what I found under my tree.

I think that’s a hint from the elves to get back at my Damask Kauni.

The boxes are packed away. The carpet is vacuumed. Dinner is cooking (chicken chili!). The Rockettes are on TV. My tree is gorgeous.

My house looks perfect!

This is my project for tomorrow. I have to get my knitting stuff under control.

Hey Lexi, does your dorm room look better than this?

  1. It looks like a very fun day was had by all! Pretty trees.

  2. Send that green thing to me! I love it!!!! I’d wear it around my neck.

  3. I think that’s a great self-portrait! You look happy with a little glamour–and who doesn’t want that? 🙂

  4. Really…make sure you have a hard copy of that pic! And maybe frame a hard copy twice — once in the knitting area woth a particularly difficult project and one in the laundry room to remind you that ‘this, too, shall pass!’ What fun to have everyone help with the tree! It’s just my DH and I and I do the trees (except he helps me lift the 6 1/2 footer onto the table in front of the window) while he watches westerns this time of year when outside projects hibernate till spring…..

  5. Hi Maria! love your blog! and I think we have something in common when it comes to decorating – I do lots of black and white geometrics with splashes of red! My powder room is painted screaming red.

what breed is lexi? I gave my parents an amazing bichon frise 3 years ago, right after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lexi looks like a bichon.
