As much as I’d love to go to the spa every week, that’s just not going to happen. So, it’s back to real life.
I have a couple of Waves in the Square shots for you.
It’s hard for me to find the opportunity to model my finished knits. I’m usually in sweats or pajamas with no makeup. This was one night when we were ready to go out for dinner. In every other retreat shot, I was wearing my 15 year old Nordstrom Coffee Cup nightgown with holes in it!
And the back:
I’m not sure about the shape. I think having a point at the center back is more slimming, but I’ll wear it anyway!
Guess what I’m knitting now? Yup! More lace. I started the Morning Glories Shawl from Anne Hanson of Knitspot.
This is Handmaiden Sea Silk and I absolutely love the feel of this yarn. The drape is amazing. I hesitate to even say this, but I’m not loving the pattern. I love everything Anne designs, but I’ve found it really hard to knit in pattern on the back side. I like lace patterns where the back side is just purled. I finally made a bunch of copies of the chart, and I’m crossing out each row as I complete it. I also need to do a lot more repeats of the pattern than I thought I would. The other thing I decided is that if I put it away for a while, the re-education process will be painful. So I’m going to keep knitting! Besides, I want it for spring. I actually chose this project because it’s something I want to wear!
If you’re someone that’s familiar with this pattern, I just realized that there’s one stitch that I was doing wrong. I’m changing it for the rest. It’s not too serious.
This week is for cleaning up all the messes that didn’t get cleaned up before I left for the spa. I think the laundry room is first. I’m also emptying my sewing room. The wood floor is going in on Tuesday.
Oh, and the diet needs to happen again. Crud! I love to eat. Do you know anyone that salivates over a carrot stick?
Back to the sewing room!
