And The Gold Goes To…..

…..me!!!!

I did it.

I skipped two rows of the ruffle.  I decided that 4 hours was a lot of knitting for an additional 1/8 inch on the ruffle.  My 7 year old was quite concerned that I was cheating.  I explained to him that I’m the boss of my knitting and it was OK.

So, I finished with about 14 hours to spare.

I’ll have more photos when it’s blocked.  I’m not doing any knitting for a long, long time.  (At least until tomorrow.)

I’m off to watch the Olympics.  I need to watch men’s basketball in the middle of the night.  I’m going to have to find something to knit.  OK, maybe I will knit some more!

  1. Wow. It’s beautiful!

  2. Amazing! I am impressed you were able to finish! Enjoy your moment on the podium!

  3. High Five! Congratulations! I knew you could do it! After finishing Entry #4 tonight, I’m exhausted and won’t knit again until tomorrow, either!

  4. It looks great, and I agree with you about the 4 hours for 1/8th inch gain being a bit too much. Our house is gearing up for the men’s basketball game as well. Also enjoyed the volleyball, both indoors and outdoors. I’m way shy of completing my lace shawl for the gold… Back to knitting!

  5. Hooray! I knew you could do it! :0)

  6. I never doubted you for a minute! It looks great too. Personally, I think an extra 1/8″ would’ve made it way too long. You made a great design modification.

  7. Thumbs up an congratulation ! It´s really wonderfull 🙂

  8. Gorgeous! Congrats on finishing…

  9. It’s Beautiful! I think this may be my favorite shawl so far. I would love to make one myself, but I’m afraid of lace. I’m afraid that it will be addicting! (that’s also why I haven’t started knitting socks yet.) I already have too many things that I love doing! I must say that you are tempting me . . .
