I have two sweaters that are waiting to be graced by my Hypoteneuse.
I’m finished with two of the three skeins of yarn. Do you see a problem with this shawl? Here. I don’t think you can miss it, but I’ll give you another shot.
Do you see the color change between the two skeins of yarn? Uh huh! Did I know that I with handpainted yarn, I was supposed to knit with two skeins interchanged? Yes, I did know that. So what does that make me? Well, since I’m not stupid, I guess that makes me…..
Lazy!
And guess what? I don’t care. I hate knitting with two skeins, and when it’s wrapped around my neck, nobody will see it. Now when I knit a sweater with a handpainted yarn, I won’t be lazy…..maybe.

I’m amazed at how much your Handmaiden Silk Maiden looks so much like the Lorna’s Shepherd that I’m using now – almost identical – that’s cool

You can barely tell. It looks wonderful and when you hit the third skein it’ll change again and it’ll look like it was supposed to be that way.

Your scarf is absolutely beautiful!! You are right…when it is wrapped around your neck it won’t be noticeable at all. You amaze me at how fast you knit. I just started knitting lace last year and I am so slow at it. I can now see where I am in the pattern so that helps.

You can’t tell unless you are really looking for it. It is beautiful…don’t you love this pattern? I did one in natural alpaca which is in soft shades of brown. yours makes me want to kit another in a brighter color.

I must admit I stared at it for a bit before I saw it. Just wear it with a smile and nobody will notice anything else!

I had a the same problem with cashmere and I did knit alternating rows with two skeins and you know what I ended up with? A striped chocolate brown cashmere sweater! It’s made me so sick to my stomach to look at it that I put it aside for a while. I think your right about minimizing the color difference when it’s wrapped around your neck, maybe I’ll have my husband wear his sweater like a scarf! Color aside, the wrap looks beautiful.

I agree with you that once it is around your neck it will all be just fine. I doubt that most people would never see the color difference and if they do notice I hope you tell them that it was a design feature that was meant to offset the curvature of the earth.

I meant to say that I doubt that most people would ever see the color difference… grr… I will learn to not be on the internet while I’m cooking dinner.

Oh, yuck. But I agree, you’re the only one who will know! :o) (Well, except for us, of course.)

What a festival of buttons on that fun sweater! It and the scarf knock me out.
Hope you enjoy my New Year’s present to you: Supreme Power to use Exclamation Points in Multiples! You are the only one that does it and still charms me every time.
