I’m hanging out in sunny Florida. My Hero is working and I’m knitting!!!
I finished two project during NASCAR on Sunday!
I made Just Enough Ruffles by Laura Chau of cosmicpluto. The yarn is Rowan Kid Classic. I had two skeins of this yarn, and knowing that wasn’t quite enough, I went stash diving. I came up with a skein of Tilli Thomas silk yarn with Swarovski crystals. The yarn didn’t have a ballband because it was given to me by the ever generous Annie Modesitt. (The trade had something to do with chocolate chip cookies and bikes!) My photography failed to show the richness of this scarf. The Tilli Thomas yarn just made the whole project sparkle. Literally! I also bound off with the Tilli Thomas so there are crystals sprinkled here and there along the edge of the ruffle.
So, at about lap 72 of the NASCAR race, I switched to one of these.
OK, I’m pulling your leg. I didn’t make two more of these scarves.
Just one, for Ms In Charge! Guess what color her new coat is? Yep!
This is the second Gathered Scarf I’ve made though. The other one is here. My blog friend Irishgirlie also made a very cool one! The yarn is Araucania Toconao, purchased at Loops, the last time we visited The Genius!
Today I’m going to the pool. I think My Hero is going to be done early and can join me. I’m also working on two major knitting projects which I will show you soon.
Tomorrow night we’re going to Cirque Du Soleil’s La Nouba. We’ve been to one Cirque show before and it was amazing. And My Hero has Thursday and Friday off so we also talked about walking Daytona Beach. The last time I was there was in high school and My Hero has never been there. The only problem is that the weather doesn’t look like it’s going to cooperate. If it rains, I’ll knit and My Hero will snore. We’ll both be happy.
I’m off to knit with no one to whine at me!!!!!
