I Need Sleep!

You know the stealth project I told you about?  It’s killin’ me.  I now have 680 stitches on my 60 inch needle.  I’m half way.  Every night I take my knitting to bed with me.  (How romantic!)  I want to go to sleep, but I keep thinking, “If I could just finish one more repeat of that chart”.  My eyes are going to match the streak in my hair pretty soon.

What’s the rush?  I have no idea.  I’m just so excited about it and it’s going to be so gorgeous.  So therefore, I must not sleep!  I feel like this.

“Oh, this sun is so warm.  I’m so relaxed.  I must stay awake.  Maybe I could just close my eyes for a second.  I’m tipping over.”

Gone!

I can show you the other moron project I’m going to work on at some point.  Remember this?

I’m making this:

It’s the Swedish Heart-Warmer Shawl from Handknit Holidays.  I’m using three colors of Lightweight Socks that Rock.  The purple is Colinette Jitterbug.  On the edge of the photo is what I have done.  Size one needles.  I must be crazy.  I ordered a 60 inch needle for this too.  Yikes!

Speaking of crazy, I guess all I have to do to get a ton of comments is to do something crazy with my hair.  Thanks to everyone that refrained frome commenting and asking me if I’m having a mid-life crisis.  I’m not.  I just thought it seemed like a good idea at the time.  Actually, I still think it was a good idea.  I like it.  My hero does not.  I think he’s just jealous.  If he was going for a pink streak, he’d have to use a marker!

So, for all of you that commented,  I dare you!!!  We could start a red streak club!  Send me a photo and I’ll add it to the blog!

Time to fire up Mom’s taxi.  Dreamboy has ski club.  Super Blonde is at driver’s ed.  I took Ms In Charge to the doctor this morning.  I guess it’s just a virus.  And Frankie is just sad because all the snow is melting.  No more kid snowmoble for him.  And this weekend?  I found out I have to make four poodle skirts, not three.  After that, there’s the stealth project.  And just a little sleep.  Please?

  1. Oh my goodness! I can’t believe you’ve started another project. Scratch that, actually yes I can and I just love it! I have been committed to Ene’s Scarf for a while now but not getting much knitting done.

As for the hair, you know we’re copycats… I’m just trying to figure out what color streak i want in mine. I think it’s the perfect pick-me-up kicker! 😉

  2. Now my master blocker would love it if I made my white/grey red or purple or blue but I just don’t think I can do it, maybe but I am just not sure!

  3. holy moley! You have a lot going on this weekend!

It never entered my mind for one single second that you were going through a mid life crisis! Not one! I wouldn’t expect DH to like it; most men are like that. What did the kids think?

Hope you manage to curl up and get a few hours sleep here and there! 🙂

  4. Oh! I forgot to mention – I work at a bank! I’ll have to wait until retirement to join the club!

  5. I bet your secret project is a stole/shawl for the CATHEDRAL series Susan Pandorf is doing…I am betting your working on gothic arches, maybe some circular shapes for rose windows and as many beads as there were dollars in the stimulus package…and it will be done way before Easter…… I think I would trade sleep for that as well. I absolutely know that you are having an incredible time!!!!!!

  6. Oooh…I’ve been wanting to make the Swedish Heart-Warmer for a long time. Can’t wait to see how yours progresses. I’ve never quite been able to decide what colors I would use.

  7. I like the hair, I love the dog (but don’t want his/her hair), and I’m sure you are making a fabulous shawl. Can’t wait to see it.

Other shawl — I’m sorry, the model looks like it is on a little tight. How WILL you be able to operate your “family taxi” if you have it on like that? LOL Otherwise, it looks like a great knit! I myself prefer the Clint Eastwood throw the poncho over the shoulder look ….
    sleep!!
We are up in the mountains for a few days. I am SUCH a time whimp that I will have “jet lag” for the one hour “ahead tonight” Yes. Pathetic!!
