Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Sucked In Again

It just goes against my grain to be a monogamous knitter.  I can’t do it.  I was slugging along cruising through Miralda, adding beads with excruciating slowness at the speed of light.  It’s gorgeous.

Yesterday, this showed up.

(Who needs a lightbox when you have an unmade bed?  Ha!)

It’s my latest installment of Plucky Classics from who else but The Plucky Knitter.  With all the snow we’ve had around here, I needed something for spring.  I immediately started digging around for a lace pattern to make a scarf.  Every jean jacket needs something to jazz it up!

This is Silver Bells.  Here’s the pattern.  (The website takes forever to load!)  There’s a yarnover missing in row 11!  This yarn is heavenly soft.  It’s taking me forever to knit because I keep stopping to look at it and to pet it.

Guess what I’m doing today?  Well, besides finishing a dozen loads of laundry, showering, making dinner, and general clean up.  I’m going to run away.  I’m going to the motorhome by myself for a couple of days.  The messes are annoying me.  The kids banter is annoying me.  They way they breathe is annoying me.  I’m annoyed that I’m annoyed.  I’m annoyed with myself, although I can’t get away from me!  My hero looked at me last night and said, “It’s time.”    He’s such an awesome guy.

I’m going to finish this.

And I think I need to start this.

This is Whisper Merino Lace from The Woolen Rabbit.  I’ve been talking about starting Maplewing.  I think it’s time.

I’m also going to do a bunch of quilting.  I’m not sure yet what.  I need to dig through the sewing room first.  If you stop back on Monday, I should have lots of stuff to show you.

Oh, and I’m going to sleep.

  1. I’m running away too. But I’m going to a professional conference with my husband… then again, he’s the only one in the house not annoying me right now. LOL
Enjoy your time away, I’ll look forward to seeing everything you get done (or not, if you sleep a lot!) when you get back.
you have a keeper there in your hubby, ya know, what a great guy.

  2. Have fun! I hope the hours drag by for you!! 🙂

  3. I’m jealous! Of both your escape and the gorgeous yarn. I’ve been eyeing some Opulence from the Woolen Rabbit in the Mama Mia colorway for Caracia. I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold off.

  4. Too bad i checked on “my blogs” too late…I’d ask (bribe?) you to swing by and pick me up…I’m in the same boat.

  5. All your yarn colors are very Spring-y. The quilt is very fun looking – what are your plans for that when it’s done – a gift?

    Have a wonderful ME Time!!!
