Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

How’s that for a creative title?  I could have called it, “The other things I worked on last weekend in the motorhome.”  That would have been too long.

First, the knitting.  I’m plugging away on Miralda.  I’m on the last chart.  This should go fast now, because it’s knit from the outside edge in.

I’m liking the way the beads show up!

I’m also almost finished with another quilt.

Last spring Nicole started a two color challenge project.  I think it was supposed to be finished by June.  Is that June of 2009, Nicole???  It still needs a 4 inch pieced border to make it big enough for my fat mattress, but I’m not sure what that border will be.  Most of the fabric is Nina Wedding by Anna Griffin.  There are still odd pieces out there if you search.  I’m really pleased with the way this turned out.

I had an interesting thing happen while I was “camping”.  A batch of fabric showed up at my door.  Will you take a look at this!

This is Rebel Roses by Heather Peterson of Anka’s Treasures.  Scroll down just a little bit to see a bunch of quilts with this fabric.  If you browse through her blog, you’ll see more amazing stuff. Thanks, little fabric elves.  Next time I’ll have another coffee cup!

On Monday, I made a quick trip to The Flying Goose to purchase background and border fabric.  Guess what I’m working on today?  I have a pattern picked out and my cutting table is cleared off!

I also worked on a secret project last night that I’ll tell you about as soon as The Boss gives me permission.  I wouldn’t want to tick her off.

I’m off to help Ms In Charge with her grammar.  It’s a good thing I have a book with the answers because she’s better at grammar than I am.  Today it’s action and linking verbs.  Guess what?  Quilting is an action verb, so I’d better get at it.

  1. You’re lace work is always so stunning! I love your Miralda!

    I think we all want a motorhome…..! 🙂

  2. Miralda is sooooo pretty.

  3. The shawl is gorgeous. Now I’m thinking I need a red shawl too–no peer pressure resistance whatsoever. BUT I’m also loving that pale quilt. I pieced a pale top awhile back and have been afraid to quilt it for fear I wouldn’t like it; that it might be too low-contrast. But yours is FABULOUS–quiet but still mighty interesting to the eye.

  4. All I can say is: “ooh, ooh, ooh”, as I drool, drool, drool. the shawl, the quilt, and the fabrics.

  5. we should all go “in time out” to get stuff done! Great projects, and btw, thanks for the links, too!

  6. Everything looks beautiful! I hope your weekend was restorative and helping you to have a great week this week.

  7. Wow, that quilt is absolutely stunning! I’m not the sort of person who is usually drawn to subtle colours like that but I think it’s amazing! It makes me wish that I had the sort of home where a quilt like that would fit in.

  8. I’m anxious to see what you are up to with that fabric! Thanks again for the coffee. Thanks to you I am now hooked on another coffee creamer. Just what I needed! At least the Nascar didn’t stick!
