Guess what I finished? Another shawl! How did you guess?
This is Chothilde. The yarn is Wollmeise. I won it from The Loopy Ewe as part of their 3rd anniversary celebration. There is a ton of yardage in a skein of Wollmeise, so I just kept knitting, long past the end of the pattern. I did five repeats of the last chart instead of two. I did finish it in less than a week though.
Here’s the obligatory outdoor shot. I need to take advantage of the outside stuff, because it’s definitely fall!
The designer listed this pattern as medium as far as hardness was concerned. I thought it was an easy pattern. I did enjoy knitting it though. As far as the yarn goes, I’m going to risk being shot for heresy. The color of Wollmeise can’t be topped. The purples and black are so saturated. I was reading someone’s blog and they said it felt like knitting with string. I agree. If I hadn’t known, I would have guessed it was cotton. Having said that, I still really enjoyed knitting with it, and I like the shawl.
And of course My Hero was being helpful as usual. I’m pretty sure his secret ambition is to be a model.
Isn’t he just darling? Don’t answer that.
It was pretty loud around here this weekend. On Friday, Superblonde had five girlfriends here over night. Thank goodness for bus. They can hang out and watch tv and sleep in the bus, so the rest of the family can sleep. On Sunday night Dreamboy had 25 junior high kids over to swim and play Guitar Hero. They had a lot of fun.
In the middle of all the chaos, I found time to start a new moron project.
No, you’re not seeing things. I started a cross-stitch project. I did a ton of cross-stitch in the ’80’s, but it’s been years! I have most of the big center motif done and I’m really enjoying it. It does take a lot more concentration than knitting does though.
We have a lot going on this week. My mom is coming. I’m sure there will be knitting involved. The kids church activities start up again and they are really excited, especially the teenagers!
I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend (if you live in the USA). Have a blessed week.
