Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

If I Were Any Slower….

….I’d be in reverse.

I’m knitting.  Not much though.  The Looking Glass Cardi has a hem.

Exciting, huh?  Here’s the whole thing.  As you can see, it’s going to benefit from a good blocking.

There is someone here that’s slower than I am.

The sun was finally shining today, and Georgie was happier than anyone about that.  She slept on the floor in the sun.

She slept in the sun on the black leather couch.  (That had to be hot!)

And she slept on my pile of knitting stuff.  The sock you see on the pile is the first sock I knit.  The other one has to be lying around somewhere, because I was wearing them last night.  It’s cold here!!!

I’m in the process of cleaning Ms. In Charge’s room.  She’s not very happy with me right now.  I did give her the choice of doing it herself.  She declined!  Actually, I don’t get mom of the year with any of the kids right now.  Oh, well.  There are just weeks like that, aren’t there?

By the way, thank you for all of your Boston and Portland advice.  I’m making a list!

  1. I’m so glad to see the Looking Glass hem! It gives me hope and a little push because there are A LOT of stitches on this beauty, eh?!!!! I’m about 7″ down from armholes … am thinking that I will make it a bit longer as I have this ridiculously Long torso. I LOVE yours – love your yarn choices – how great it will look with denim anything! You did good. BRAVO! Thanks again for the inspiration, and don’t worry about the children. My sense is that you are beloved, even if they cannot express this!!!!

  2. You’re knitting and cleaning?! That makes you Wonder Woman in my book! I’m only popular with my teen who’s learning to drive at the moment because I let him drive everywhere. So. Scary!

I can’t wait to see your finished sweater!

  3. My kids used to hate it when I cleaned their room. They’d have ample time to decide to do it themselves. If they didn’t, I’d pick a day they were gone and it do it myself. That means no complaints about anything that was donated or thrown out. Somehow, even that didn’t cure them of a dirty room.

Georgie is adorable! Glad she found her warm spot. It’s still really hot here and the a/c will be whirling for months!

  4. I too have my air conditioner going still, my winter clothes are still in a plastic tub and who know were the socks are, will it ever get cool enough to need them. Love the sweater, and thanks for the heads up about the Temperpedic, luckily its just a wish list and not a done deal, so we shall look for others!!

  5. Love the sweater…..and girl, i know about knitting at glacial speed… need a Cathedral Window Quilt to go with the sweater….

  6. What is slow for you is light speed for me!! I’ve been working on the same sweater since last April 🙂
    Love the picot hem!

  7. I think it’s gorgeous. I wished I was as ‘slow’ as you are. Maybe I’d finally finish my first knitting project 😉

  8. Ms. Georgie obviously knows where the best places to take a nap are! Also, loved her clcseup photo of curly yarn/ummm … hair LOL

great sweater! and cleaning … the back part of my house may implode if I don’t attack it … tomorrow LOL
