We Love Boston!

Ok, Boston is really cool!  The Genius and I arrived on Saturday afternoon at two different times and two different terminals.  Once we finally connected, we took a water taxi to our hotel.  It was sunny and in the 60’s.  How fun!

Yesterday, we set out to conquer the subway system.  Our first stop was Harvard Square.  It was a total madhouse!  They had their own, slightly warped but fun, version of Oktoberfest going on.

We checked out this gorgeous flower shop.

We had lunch at a local Irish Pub.  While we were sitting there, a marching band came upstairs and started to play.  The funniest part was the trumpet player.  He had to stop playing occasionally to take a swig of his beer.  Notice the Red Sox game on tv.  That didn’t end so well.  (The Twins lost too.  Waaaaaa!!!)

We walked the hallowed grounds of Harvard, which was quite peaceful, compared to the melee on the streets!

Then it was off to MIT.

The place was totally deserted.  We decided everyone was either studying or at Oktoberfest.

And yes, one of us has been knitting.  The Genius had a midterm dumped on her right before she left for break.  She finished that last night.  She says she knits, but I haven’t seen it yet.

As for me, I have the fronts of My Hero’s cardigan finished.  Here’s my weird art shot of that!

Today we’re going to Windsor Button.  We’re both very excited about that!  And then it’s off  on The Freedom Trail.

We’ve decided we really love Boston!

  2. so glad you are having a wonderful time. Boston is one of my favorite cities, but it is definitely for walkers and I don’t have that kind of mobility anymore. I need a Seque! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

  3. There is so much to love about Boston, isn’t there?

  4. I have not been to Boston as an adult! Clearly, I’m missing out!

  5. I LOVE your blog! I always pop over to see where you are….you are like a traveling Waldo…I never know where you’ll be and you always provide beautiful pictures! And, I’m always amazed at how much knitting you accomplish! What beautiful work!
