Wow! Now I remember what life was like without internet. I had a lot more time!!!
It’s time for a Christmas story. We left home on December 23, headed for Nashville. We drove through Iowa in LOTS of ice. It was ugly for about the first 8 hours. We made it, safe and sound! On Christmas Eve, we ate dinner at the Gaylord in Nashville. The hotel is so gorgeous at Christmas!!! After dinner we attended the Rockettes Christmas show. One of the kids commented on all the legs. I thought it was amazing.
On Christmas morning, we had waffles in the RV and opened gifts. After a few of us had naps, we headed for the Gaylord for ICE! They did an entire display of Snoopy and the gang in ice, along with the nativity. Here! I’ll show you.
That was me, getting ready for some counseling. The display is all ice.
My Hero, Superblonde, and Dreamboy were imitating the Peanuts Gang singing carols. No, we don’t have matching coats. They give them to you when you arrive. It was 6 degrees in there!!!
I love the nativity scene. Isn’t it gorgeous?
This is my Christmas card photo. What??? You didn’t get my card. Oh, that’s right. I didn’t send them…for the third year in a row. I just love this photo. It demonstrates the protection over our children that My Hero and I pray for.
And we have Miss Georgie in her Christmas finery. (I had to include this photo. It was a request from a blog reader.)
On December 26th we headed for Savannah, Georgia where The Genius will be going to school for a year. We got her all settled in her apartment, did some tourist things, and ate too much. My parents drove her car to Savannah for us and we were able to spend several days with them as well.
Savannah is a gorgeous town, and I don’t have any photos. I guess we’ll just have to go again soon for a visit.
And finally I have a photo of The Genius’ quilt Also in the photo is Gus, also known as PWB. That’s Pathetic Whiny Baby. He’s sure he needs The Genius’ attention all the time. And he looks pathetic because he badly needs a haircut. I love how the quilt turned out and so does she! And I love the funky green pillow cases.
We left Savannah at 6 AM on Jan 1st and got home at about 9 AM this morning. The bus is unpacked and cleaned! The Christmas decorating is no more, and we did a grocery run. I have some unpacking to do here at home, but other than that, we’re close to being back to normal. Well, as normal as we ever are!!!
I need to update my 2009 finished project page and do a little summary, but that can happen after the kids are back in school. That’s Monday! I’m ready! And yes, there has been knitting.
2010 is off to a great start.
