I Warned You

You are now about to read the dreaded boring black stockinette post.  I warned you that it was coming!!!

That is about 57,000 black stitches.  I’m only about an inch from the shoulder colorwork.  Are you wondering where the red stripes on the sides came from?  It’s the pillow on the back of the chair!  I didn’t do that on purpose, but at least it adds color!

Look at those gorgeous Addi turbo needles.  Still boring?  I thought so.

My goal is to finish the knitting today and do the steeks and start cutting tomorrow morning.  Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon I’ll have a more interesting post for you.

Back to my nice quiet hotel room.  The Olympics should be on by now.  Right now I’m sitting in the lobby, taking advantage of the free internet access.  I’m not paying $14.95 a day for internet access in my room.  It’s amazing how much knitting I can get done when I’m not distracted by blogs and ravelry!

I’ll be back soon with photos of my scissors hacking into that black stockinette!

  1. Scissors + knitting = scary to me!

  2. steeking not for the faint of heart!!!! May the craft gods guide you as you venture forth!!!

  3. well for plain black stockinette it looks pretty good to me. cant wait to see what steeking is…

  4. i like seeing your progress – you give me hope! If you can do it with black, I can plog onward with navy! Wish I could hang out with you – sounds like you are in a good place. We’re shoveling out again – another 11 inches and probably a full day of knitting.
