Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

How do you write interesting blog posts about knitting 1,700 yards of purple laceweight yarn?  Don’t ask me, because I’m struggling.

Here’s Maplewing in all its glory.

Sorry, Georgie!  Superblonde says she looks ridiculous.  I’m inclined to agree.  She’s a great model though, because she doesn’t complain.  She just does what I tell her to do.

The rows on this shawl are getting shorter, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!  I promise it will be very blog worthy….someday!

I’ve been stitching binding on Frankie’s monkey quilt.  He has a log bunkbed, so this quilt will be blogworthy…someday.

Last night, I just had to start a new project, even if it delays finishing the Purple Blob.  It doesn’t look like much yet, but I’m doing a chevron shawl using two colors of Noro Flower Bed, purchased from Yarnbow.  By the way, I highly recommend ordering from Yarnbow.  Their prices are good, and I don’t know anyone that ships faster than they do!!!  Here’s my inspiration (a ravelry link).    That is so gorgeous.  Mine doesn’t look like much yet, because the colors haven’t started changing.

This is going to be my brainless take along project.  I think it has potential.

However, I need to just finish something already!!!  Then I wouldn’t be such a boring blogger!

Now I need to go make dinner, and then it’s back to the purple blob.

Hopefully I’ll be back soon with something finished!!!

  1. She’s got that “why me?” look on her face. Too cute.

  2. Georgie is a super model! What a sweet little dog with a BIG shawl! Can’t wait to see that one completed. Don’t be so hard on yourself – we all love to see your projects, finished or not! You always have the best stuff going! The link doesn’t work for the noro project tho, maybe you could send it along as I would really enjoy seeing the inspiration for what is going to be gorgeous.
The Monkey Quilt is a total hoot and really beautifully executed.

  3. are you subbing a different pattern for the project or were you able to find a place to get just the pattern and not the entire kit, since you picked up the yarn from Yarnbow. I love playing with Noro products and seeing how they turn out.

Your projects and your pup are wonderful as always

  4. Georgie is the cutest model! She makes even an unblocked shawl look beautiful. Keep knitting, those projects that seem to take forever end up being the rewarding ones in the end.
