Random Easter Musings

I’m thinking this post is going to be all over the place!

First, I’m so thankful that God chose to send his Son to this earth to die for me, my family, and anyone that believes that he died for their sins.  I can’t even imagine giving up one of my sons.

Second, I’ve been reading all these blogs this winter of people that have been so sick and had miserable colds.  I just smirk because I never get sick.  Well, that one came back to bite me in the butt.  My Hero and I are both miserable.  I did dishes this morning and had to have a nap.  And My Hero….he’s out skiing.  I’m pretty sure he just lays down in the snow occasionally and watches the kids go by.

This was taken before he got sick.  His eyes look dull today.  He’s like a Timex watch.  He takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’.  ( I love that he left the sticker on his helmet.  He does have a very large noggin and had a hard time finding a helmet that fit.)

Third, the Purple Blob is done!!!!!!!  I started it on April 3, 2009 and finished it on April 4, 2010.

It still looks like a blob, but it definitely has potential.  I can’t wait to get home to block it.

I’ll give you the details in the next post after it’s blocked.

Right now, I need to go park my snot filled head on a pillow.

Happy Easter.  We are so blessed!

  1. Happy Easter to you too. The blob is going to be beautiful. We miss you, Mom

  2. Happy Easter and I hope you feel better soon! Congratulations on finishing the purple blob. That’s a pattern I keep seeing and thinking I want to knit, but haven’t gotten to it yet. It looks good now, so I can’t wait to see it blocked.

  3. The blob certainly looks wonderful – cannot wait to see it blocked. Sorry that you and your Hero are ill. We do have so much to be grateful for though, don’t we, on this day? And like you, Maria, I cannot imagine giving up my son so that we could be saved.

  4. I hope you both feel better soon.

The first time through, I thought you finished the shawl in ONE day! I totally believed it there for a few minutes…

  5. I am sending you healing thoughts but they probably won’t work since I have been fighting this bug since February 3rd, Its a tough one to beat, Tom had it from Thanksgiving until Mid Feb but kept going the whole time, I can’t go to the bathroom without loosing breath and half dying!

YOUR purple blob is gorgeous even unblocked I can remember when you started it and did not know it was a whole year!!!

  6. Maria,
You know you’ve found the cure for the common cold – blocking a spectacular finished object that is one year old is the cure. You’re going down in medical history with Marie Curie.
