Can’t you just hear Etta James singing? No, I’m not that old. I just love that song!
At last….a finished project!
The only reason I chose this photo is because of the crocuses. They’re the only thing growing in yard. (Remember this when I’m showing you my gorgeous back yard in July!!!!)
The front of one size is purple with a small basketweave, and the other side is black with a large basketweave.
The pattern: Mitered Vee Capelet from Swing Swagger Drape by Jane Slicer-Smith.
Do you remember the pile of teal and brown Socks That Rock yarn from my last post? I’m making the sweater on the cover of the book with it!
The yarn: Tess’ Designer Yarns Superwash Merino in 5 colors. I bought this last fall in Portland, Maine while on a trip with The Genius! I loved working with it and a quick steam block was all it needed!
The needles: Size 5 Addi Turbos
I started this project in November while on a family vacation to Mexico. I brought all the yarn along and forgot the book. After a frantic plea to a few people on ravelry, someone responded and gave me the stitch count for starting the miters. I did all the miters while on vacation! I would highly recommend this project. It was a lot of fun and I think it will get a lot of use…next fall! Oh, well!
I love the texture!!!
Notice the trees? No leaves!!!
Yesterday was maintenance day! I had to cover my gray hair. While I was there, I had my stylist add a bit of panache!
Yep, it’s purple. I hope I don’t look like an almost 47 year old having a mid-life crisis! It goes with my new capelet and will look great with The Purple Blob that I’m going to block this afternoon! I think my head can stand it now.
Yes, I’m no longer BFF’s with the kleenex box. I still don’t feel great, but I’m moving in the right direction. I slept great last night…finally!
And now… one last shot of the capelet.
Have a great weekend, everybody!
