Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Ahhh! Monday Morning

I love Monday mornings!  My Hero goes back to work, the kids are off to school, and the mother-in-law goes back home.  (Hi Nana!  We love you and we’re glad you spent the weekend with us!!!)

I’m still cleaning!  I’m hearing from lots of people that watch Hoarders and suddenly feel the urge to clean.  On Saturday, the guest room was my target.  It was pretty dusty.  And our basement officially looks fabulous!  My brother once described our basement by saying it looked like Toys-R-Us threw up down there.  So true!  It doesn’t any more though.  Actually, Dreamboy can take a lot of the credit.  He cleaned…and then had 25 junior high friends over on Saturday night.  I went down there after all the kids left.  I figured there would be pizza boxes and junk all over.  It looked perfect.  Dreamboy had already cleaned it all up.  He certainly didn’t get his neatness from me!

Sunday was a great day.  Ms In Charge  was officially crowned as a Honor Star.  Our church has a three year program for girls that includes character development, missions, and knowledge of God’s word.  At the end of the three years, the girls are recognized for their achievements and receive their crowns.  It’s a fun day and a great sense of accomplishment for the girls.  At the end, everyone in the church stood up and cheered for the girls.  It’s so good for them to know that people care about them and support them.

I totally forgot to take photos of the shawl!!!  The pattern is Luna Moth and it’s a great free pattern!  The yarn is Miss Babs Bamboo Baby.  I just looked at Miss Babs site, and I don’t think she’s selling it any more.

I did a little bit of knitting this weekend.  I’m working on my February Lady.  I started it in 2008 and just now pulled it out again.  I need to do a little more cleaning because I need to find the rest of the yarn!  At least I hope there’s more.

I also have another reason to love this particular Monday.

My Hero and I have been married for 24 years!!!  Happy Anniversary, honey!!!  It’s hard to believe I’ve been married for over half of my life!  Saying “I Do” is probably the best decision I’ve ever made.

Ok!  I need coffee and then I need to find the rest of the yarn for February Lady.  Time to get busy!

    Congratulations to Ms-In-Charge!
A cleaner house is definitely good, as long as it doesn’t become replacement obsession!
Yes, that TV program sends fear throughout my veins….and all I saw was a preview!

  9. Honor Star ….how wonderful………All 3 of my girls have been crowned. I now have one in Girls Only and 2 in Friends. I’ve taught Stars and Friends for years. Congrats! It’s quite an Honor and an achievement to finish that program. They say that program is the equivilent to 1 year of Bible college. She will remember her crowning for years to come…..I wish more girls and women would go thru that training.

    Happy Anniversary Too!!!!!!!!!
