Yesterday I told you I’d let you know if I found something exciting to do. I found something.
Mary and I are going to do a KAL. (That’s a knit along, for all you non knitters. By the way, you might want to consider learning to knit. Then you could have fun with us!)
I met Mary at sock camp. Mary is a fabulous knitter. Check out her new book on Stranded Colorwork. Everything she knits is perfect, and usually has some unique little touch that makes per projects spectacular.
But……she’s never knit lace. So I offered to do a lace project at the same time, just for moral support. So, Mary chose the Adamas shawl by MimKnits. It’s a perfect first lace project!
I chose Handmaiden Sea Silk in periwinkle for my project.
I’m also going to add beads, because I love glitz. This is a really crummy photo, because it’s nasty and rainy here in Marvelous Minnesota! My yarn is not gray!
Mary’s already one upped me on this shawl though! She’s using her own handspun for her project. You’ll have to watch her blog to get the details on her project. Make sure you leave her a comment to cheer her on!
