Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Yay for Mom’s Day!

I’m pretty sure Mother’s Day was designed for knitters!!!  It’s our chance to sit around and knit all day.  I do that other days, but today I don’t have to feel guilty about it!

In our last post I told you about our Adamas knitalong.  Mary is off to a great start!!!  Take a look.  I’m pretty sure she doesn’t need my help!

Here’s mine:

I love Handmaiden Sea Silk!  It’s really a fun knit.  Oh, and there are beads.

We have several people that are joining us!  Both of us will post updates as we go along.  It’s not to late!  You’re more than welcome to knit along!

Gotta go!  We’re having steak, baked potatoes, and grean beans for our Mother’s Day dinner.  It smells awesome!

  1. Oh, the fear. I’m going to do it, (she says sheepishly)I’m going to start your shawl-a-long. I hold no hope that I won’t be face down in a tangle of lace yarn, sobbing and holding tight to a bottle of wine by day 2, but I’m going to do it.
People, please check in on me in a few days to make sure I haven’t been…overcome!
    Holding breath…here I go!!!

  2. Marissa is my kinda girl. Though I admit to bypassing the wine and heading straight for the gin on this, day 3 of the challenge. God is good. He giveth limes. How come they don’t tell you how many pattern repeats are in each @#%* chart repeat? Really? I can inflict this kind of frustration on myself without any outside infiluences. Why seek out the horror? If anyone needs me I’ll be fetal in the corner. With gin and limes.

  3. I would love to do this shawl with you, but I just started the Forest Canopy Shawl last week. It is my fitst attempt at lace. It is o.k. so far. Love the Adamas Shawl. Maybe it will be my next lace project, depending on how the current one goes!

  4. Wow, we had the same thing for our Mother’s Day dinner, only we had it Saturday night since Sunday was to be celebrating with our own mom’s. I have admired the Adamas shawl, but haven’t worked it into my plans or determined if I have yarn for it. Trying to knit from stash, but you know how that goes! Beautiful with beads.
