It was only a few months ago that we were all complaining about the cold. Now we’re roasting! It’s been about 99 degrees here in the Dallas area. (We’re visiting grandparents, siblings, and cousins.) I talked to The Genius today and the heat index where she is is 108 degrees. Now that’s hot!
I think the heat is altering my brain. I’m really not excited about anything I’m knitting. I’m working on Adamas. I’ve also spent some time on this project.
It’s Earth Maiden by Ilga Leja. The yarn is Blue Heron Rayon Metallic. I probably bought the yarn because of the color name.
It’s Chocolate Copper.
I’m really going to like it. I’m just not very excited about knitting it. No reason!
I’ve also knit a few rows on Cassidy. The yarn is Brooks Farms Mas Acero. My mom bought it for me for my birthday a year or two ago.
Again, I love it but I’m not excited about knitting it right now.
So, what does a girl do when she isn’t excited about knitting anything? She buys new yarn, of course!!!
The lime green is Linie Clip. I also got two skeins of Noro Sekku, and two skeins of Ella Rae Lace Merino. Look at that color!
So where did I go shopping? I went with my mom to her favorite LYS, The Knitting Nook. As you can see, I had no problem finding something to buy. Mom’s friends are a lot of fun too! It was a good day!
So what am I going to knit? I’m probably going to be disciplined and stick with the Earth Maiden.
My kids are having a great time with their cousins. There are 19 cousins, and all but the two oldest are around. There have been sleepovers and movies, and lots of hours in the swimming pool. The adults are having a good time hanging out too.
We’re here in Texas until Monday or Tuesday and then we’re going home where it’s not so darn hot!!! But for the next few days, we’re going to enjoy family…and Grandpa’s great cooking on Sunday!
