I’m done whining! It’s amazing what a couple of Excedrin Migraine and some sleep will do for a person’s outlook on life.
I still haven’t unpacked my suitcase though.
Our trip to Texas to hang out with my family was fun! I was able to spend time with my siblings and spouses. I got to hassle my dad. He growls, but it’s fake! He’s really harmless. Mom and I spend a lot of time knitting. We cooked only when absolutely necessary and kept it easy. My kids were spread out among their cousins, so there was no bickering. The only person that had a busy time was My Hero. He was in Texas to do 14 days of flight training for a new airplane. It was a lot of work and studying for him, but he’s done and enjoying flying. I feel very blessed to have such a great family. It’s especially fun to watch all the cousins together. There are 19 of them and all but two were around!
While I was gone, I couldn’t stick to one knitting project to save my life. I knit a lot, and finished nothing! I’m really thinking I should finish Adamas and here’s why.
I got my nails done today, and they match this yarn perfectly. I didn’t plan it. It just happened. Anyway, I think this is the motivation I need to keep knitting. It doesn’t take much to thrill me. And this does!
The color is more accurate on the first photo. I have 9 or 10 repeats done and the pattern suggests 14. However, I have lots of yarn, so I may just keep going.
I’m home with one kid tonight, so I’m going to enjoy the quiet and knit! I think these moments will be rare this summer, and now that my headache is gone, I’m ok with that! If the kids are in our basement or pool, we know what they’re up to. And they’re fun to have around!
Oh…I think there may be a quilt or two brewing. We’ll see!
