I missed it!!! August 7th was the 3rd anniversary of Passing Down Crazy!!! I thought of it a couple of days ago, but I had to decide on prizes!!! I’m an equal opportunity knitter and quilter, so I have to have a prize for each obsession hobby!
So…for the quilters, I have a honey bun of Martinique and a Fig Tree pattern called Cameos!
You’ll have to add some fabric to complete the quilt, but this is a good start. And the yardage for Martinique came out recently so it should be widely available!
For the knitters, I have a skein of The Plucky Knitter MCN. That’s merino, cashmere, and nylon. Her yarn disappears off of her Etsy site as fast as it hits it, so here’s your chance.
I’m not trying to be tricky here, but this photo is black and white. I couldn’t get the color right when I tried to color correct it, so I decided to just surprise you! Remember, if you hate it, it’s still free yarn and you can probably trade someone for a different color!
So, just leave a comment by Saturday, August 14th at midnight (central time). I want to know what you’re looking forward to this fall. Do you have a new knitting or quilting project planned? A vacation? Just getting the kids off to school? Oh, and let me know if you want the fabric or the yarn!

Right now what I’m looking forward to in the fall is cooler temperatures and the chance to spend more time knitting and sewing. Since I’m both a quilter and a knitter I would love either of the goodies. That Honeybun and pattern are so pretty. I love Fig Tree patterns. Happy stiching!

The fabric! Always the fabric! This fall, I’m looking forward to relief from the heat wave! I have a few quilts to bind, but the idea of getting under a quilt for a few hours to bind it is not appealing AT ALL. Oh, and I’m looking forward to football season, since it means the Hubz will be preoccupied with the games –> more sewing time for me!

Well Happy Blog-Anniversary!!
Looking forward to in the fall?….mmmmm
My eldest is starting High School and I’m a little (a lot) anxious about that.
I just started back to work in my chosen profession (nursing) very part-time and I’m pretty excited about that.
I REALLY enjoy the kids getting back to school, but the busyness of all the activities that go with it is a little daunting.
Probably the thing I’m looking forward to most is getting back to my normal Thursday Night Knitting with the Cast Offs. This summer has been a little more tricky for getting together and so I look forward to getting together when life settles down again in the fall.
So, I guess you can tell that the yarn would be a lovely prize!!

I’m also looking forward to cooler weather. I’m a knitter and miss knitting with wool and wool blends. I have a shaw planned out of Brooks Farms Willow, a wool and bamboo yarn. I’ve been mostly knitting with cotton all summer. I have lots of market bags made for Christmas gifts.

Just recently found your blog and have been enjoying it!
I’m looking forward to going back to work–hard to believe, huh?
I’ve been on furlough from my job all summer, which of course has pros and cons. I had a lot of time to spend with my children (especially my daughter who goes off to Middle School on Monday) and finished off some old knitting projects. Didn’t so as much spinning as I expected but had a chance to recharge after an incredibly busy year and a half since I started the job. Unfortunately found out upon applying for it that church employees are not eligible for Unemployment Compensation, so it hasn’t been very good for my bank balance!
Anyway, as much as I would theoretically love to take up quilting, I don’t see it in the near future so I would prefer the yarn if I am the lucky one!

This fall I’m looking forward to the quilting retreat at my church. It’s not really a “retreat” as we don’t sleep there, but it’s two solid days of quilting, fellowship and food! I’m also looking forward to getting our homeschooling off to a great start.

This seems to be a recurring theme, but the main thing I’m looking forward to at this point is RELIEF FROM THE HEAT. It is a sauna outside. We’re talking 100 degrees and 90% humidity. That is just WRONG. I’m also looking forward to fall knitting. It’s hard to get excited about wool when you are already sweating profusely. When the weather starts to turn autumn-y it always recharges my knitting mojo.
If you couldn’t already tell, I’d prefer the yarn. PICK ME!!

Hi! I’m looking forward to getting back to normal. I’ve been recovering from major back surgery these past couple months. I’ve been able to knit/finish a couple shawls so just *maybe* I will be able to bend down and block them!!! Oh to be normal again!!

I am looking forward to the leaves changing colors in the fall. The trees on the bluffs look like nature’s patchwork quilts as they change to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. It’s my favorite time of year. I’m just a beginning knitter so the fabric is a better choice for me! I really enjoy seeing your beautiful knitting. Maybe someday I’ll get that good, but for now I will just stick to quilting!

I feel so out of whack right now because of the crazy end to summer here. I am also looking forward to bonfires and fun daytrips with friends. I’m looking forward to sweaters!! Thankfully, it’s not been very hot where I live this summer, but I have two sweaters that are nearing completion (sleeves for one, and sleeves + button band/collar for the other) that I’m looking forward to wearing. Wow! Happy blogger anniversary. I enjoy your blog so much and it is part of my day to see what you have updated, thankyou. I am looking forward to spending time with my DIL who is pregnant. I have a project I decided to take on to get rid of some of my stash. My Daughter’s school where she teaches has a craft fair and I have decided to make hats and mitts and baby sox and who knows what else? I am actually making a sweater for me that might fit and 2 sweaters for 2 little, soon to walk boys. A little travel and some knit shops and I am happy. I am still adjusting to being out of work, and so are a lot of other people. I am fortunate that I only miss working.

I just want the temps to get to about 80 or 85. We have not had much of a summer because it has been so HOT! I plan on finishing my daughters Babbette Blanket and then start my daughter in laws cashmere scarf for Christmas. I really would like to be exclusively knitting on my poinsettia scarf and also start a shawl with my brown/copper blue heron. This fall will bring cool breezes that dance the leaves across the lawn while I sit and sip a cup of coffee with vanilla caramel cream. My feet will be propped up on a nice fluffy pillow while I am taking a break from working on my purple, butterfly, batik quilt! I will sit there enjoying the cool crisp air while enjoying the wonderful memories from summer. I might knit my new pinks and browns shawl or my purple socks…but probably I will just sit and enjoy the beautiful fall weather and dream about the fall and the upcoming holidays! Fall is my favorite time of year!
I would prefer the material for a new quilt if I win!

Right now I am looking forward to the cooler weather as it is a scorcher here in Wisconsin. I can’t wait to break out the sweater that I put aside unfinished as it was too hot to have in my lap. Also fall is my fav time of year, with the cool weather, the beautiful colors and the wool sweater airing out for winter. I love to knit and always have several projects going at once. I’m looking forward to having my sister come and visit me in October!!! I live in France and even though I’ll be going to Seattle soon to visit family, she (who lives in New York) won’t be able to join us this year. Her husband has business in Paris this autumn, and I can’t wait to play tourist with her. Shame she doesn’t knit, and doesn’t want to learn! I’m most looking forward to cooler weather…….at this point, I’d even love just 10 degrees……..It is unbelievably hot………….Last night at 1am it was still close to 90 degrees 97 heat index. I want to be able to quilt and knit out in the back yard again……..Wonderful giveaway and keep blogging, I’ve enjoyed reading yours for a while now. Thanks….I just started a traveling woman shawl because I saw it on your site this week.

Oh man I want cooler weather: I’ve been roasting in Chicago and then visiting my parents (and leaving my children) in Florida and the weather is the SAME! How did that happen. Classes start for me in about a week and I can’t imagine teaching and sweating in front of students. lol.

I’m looking forward to the cooler weather, for sure. We’ve had a miserably hot and humid summer and I’m ready for it to cool off and to watch the leaves turn. I used to hate fall because I always associated it with school, but now that i’m finally done with school, I love it!

Looking forward… a work trip to Norway which I have converted into a visit-family trip and my boss is paying! (still have to work a couple of days though) And the best thing – both my aunt and cousin are rarely seen without their knitting.

Happy Blogiversary…three years is quite an accomplishment! I’m looking forward to much less heat and humidity, a trip to Italy next month, caring for my 22 month old granddaughter while my daughter pursues another degree, and knitting two Einstein coats (I know…I’m late to the party but I love them…I always had a difficult time commiting to a color!). As much as I’m grateful for A/C, I can’t wait to curl up next to a warm, toasty fire!

As both a knitter and a quilter I can relate to the tug of war between two passions. I applaud you for accomplishing so much! I have lots of finished shawls and mitts and a lot of quilting WIPs. I’m looking forward to cooler weather when I can not only wear my shawls and mitts but also see my friends wear theirs. Last Christmas I made mitts for a few friends and this year I have made shawlettes for women in my office. Wouldn’t it be cool to see seven women draped in bright colored wool at our fall faculty meeting?

i would love to win the yarn. It is my 16th anniversary on the 14th also! No plans to go away, hub was very ill and i’m on 1/2 FMLA for a while (after several weeks of fully being off, but i had to go back to be able to pay bills), so i am not even adding to my stash these days! 🙂

Hmmmmm, what am I looking forward to? I’m looking forward to getting my fall decorations out. I love spreading fall leaves and faux pumpkins on anything that will sit still. I’m looking forward to burning pumpkin pie candles. I’m looking forward to my hands not being so sticky from the heat when I knit. I’m looking forward to cuddling under quilts. Fall hints at the upcoming holidays, and I’m excited for those. Fall seems so far away.

Congrats on the blogiversary! I think I’ve been reading from the very beginning.
As for fall, nothing really changes. No kids to go back to school and work will continue. But once I get a few knitting projects with deadlines completed, I want to finish several WIPs that have been hanging out hibernating. One is a red sweater that I started in 2005! And if I win, I’ll go for the yarn.

I am hoping to finish a new bed quilt for my bedroom by fall. DH is going to paint the room for me, so I have to get going! I’m also hoping to finish a crocheted baby blanket. My youngest daughter moves back to college, so life at home will change once again. Oh, and I’m taking online classes, too. Actually, all I’m hoping for right now is cooler temperatures! Congratulations on three years of dedicated blogging! It’s a lot of work, and we do appreciate it. I always leave your posts with a smile. This fall will be my first one with no homeschoolers, since 1998. Not quite sure what I’ll do, but no doubt many things will vie for the time left open. It was a good ride! One thing is certain–the knitting needles will still be clicking away. Yarn is always welcome in this household.

The heat is relentless with 38 days of humid, over 95 degrees weather. I want a little relief – maybe in the 80s. I’m looking forward to my Mom’s fall squash and pumpkin crop, with some peas and sweet potatoes too. Thank you for this giveaway. Martinique would be perfect. I am looking forward to the apple harvest – pies, breads, and yummy apples in my lunch. We usually go with my brother and make a day of going up to the foothills and selecting a wide variety of apples, freshly harvested, for eating and cooking.

Congrats on your aniversery. I am looking forward to my son starting his first year of college. He is so excited that it makes it easier. I would love the yarn. I am disabled and spend alot of my day knitting to help deal with my situation. Knitting helps to heal almost anything.

I’ve started 2 duvet covers (pieced)and 3 other wall hanging quilting projects and am looking forward to finally getting back to them and finishing them so I can start some new projects. Gotta admit that finishing UFOs is not necessarily a prerequisite to starting new projects tho. New fabric calls for new ideas, you know and I’d love to make some matching accessory items with that Martinique!

Congrats to keeping me in stitches (ha ha) for three years! I am looking forward to having all my grandkids in school this fall. My youngest grandchild turned 5 today and will start kindergarten. I’m also looking forward to watching the 15 year old play high school football for the first time.
I have both a sewing and a knitting obsession, but if I had to pick I’d probably pick the yarn since I knit more than I quilt. Tons of other sewing, but not as much quilting.

Three years has been wonderful for us, thank you! Congratulations! I am a knitter and am very much looking forward to the smell of pumpkin cranberry bread, a comfortable rocker, with a handwoven basket over flowing with handspun Merino by the fireplace for a new knitting project. Fall is my favorite season and I watch her changing colors every year with awe. I need a rose colored cardigan and am thinking Tea Leaves is the way to go.

Congrats on the anniversary! I’d love to be entered on the yarn. Being unemployed means lot of free time, but no cash to enjoy it. I’m going to kick old man (rec)/(depr)ession right in the teeth, and treating myself to a bus pass for the Month of October. That should be the start of Summer here in SF, and I’m going to spend the whole month running around the city taking advantage of free admission days to museums, the Zoo, the Hall of Science, and just anywhere I can think of.
