Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

It’s Contest Time!

I missed it!!!  August 7th was the 3rd anniversary of Passing Down Crazy!!!  I thought of it a couple of days ago, but I had to decide on prizes!!!  I’m an equal opportunity knitter and quilter, so I have to have a prize for each obsession hobby!

So…for the quilters, I have a honey bun of Martinique and a Fig Tree pattern called Cameos!

You’ll have to add some fabric to complete the quilt, but this is a good start.  And the yardage for Martinique came out recently so it should be widely available!

For the  knitters, I have a skein of The Plucky Knitter MCN.  That’s merino, cashmere, and nylon.  Her yarn disappears off of her Etsy site as fast as it hits it, so here’s your chance.

I’m not trying to be tricky here, but this photo is black and white.  I couldn’t get the color right when I tried to color correct it, so I decided to just surprise you!  Remember, if you hate it, it’s still free yarn and you can probably trade someone for a different color!

So, just leave a comment by Saturday, August 14th at midnight (central time).  I want to know what you’re looking forward to this fall.  Do you have a new knitting or quilting project planned?  A vacation?  Just getting the kids off to school?  Oh, and let me know if you want the fabric or the yarn!

Watch for the winners on Sunday’s blog post.  I have a new knitting project to show you.  Also, the Cloud Chaser vest is blocked, and should be dry by then, so I can do a photo shoot!

I’m going to go knit for a while.  Here’s a hint:  it’s lime green cotton!

  1. I’m looking forward to cooler weather (we’ve been roasting in St. Paul, and with crazy thunderstorms), and the students coming back (I work at a college).

I’d love either prize! Congrats on three years!

  2. Right now what I’m looking forward to in the fall is cooler temperatures and the chance to spend more time knitting and sewing. Since I’m both a quilter and a knitter I would love either of the goodies. That Honeybun and pattern are so pretty. I love Fig Tree patterns. Happy stiching!

  3. I’m looking forward to relief from all this heat! Maybe this is the year I actually finish a sweater? I’d love the yarn and I wish is was that gray color! Haha

  4. Congrats on your blogiversary! Been following you for a solid year now at least, and I am always excited about your next projects. Good luck and many wishes for several more years!!

  5. I’m looking forward to seeing your Cloud Chaser.

Ok, in all seriousness I am looking forward to your Cloud Chaser, but this Fall I’m really looking forward to going back to school part time.

  6. I would love to win either prize. Just looking forward to cooler weather so I can take more bicycle trips and enjoy fresher air. Sewing and knitting are great for these 100 degree days!

  7. I would love to win the yarn. And I’m looking forward to going to Rhinebeck for the first time–my schedule has never allowed it; this year, my calendar looks clear and I’m determined to get there!

  8. Looking forward to much cooler temperatures and feeling the urge to
start a quilt with more fall like colors. Would love to use the Fig Tree pattern and the honey bun to scratch that itch!

  9. The fabric! Always the fabric! This fall, I’m looking forward to relief from the heat wave! I have a few quilts to bind, but the idea of getting under a quilt for a few hours to bind it is not appealing AT ALL. Oh, and I’m looking forward to football season, since it means the Hubz will be preoccupied with the games –> more sewing time for me!

  10. Looking forward to a weekend in Rhinebeck, mid-October, enjoying the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival !!!!! I would love to win the yarn, although the fabric would make a lovely gift for my quilting sister.

  11. Well Happy Blog-Anniversary!!
Looking forward to in the fall?….mmmmm
My eldest is starting High School and I’m a little (a lot) anxious about that.
I just started back to work in my chosen profession (nursing) very part-time and I’m pretty excited about that.
I REALLY enjoy the kids getting back to school, but the busyness of all the activities that go with it is a little daunting.
Probably the thing I’m looking forward to most is getting back to my normal Thursday Night Knitting with the Cast Offs. This summer has been a little more tricky for getting together and so I look forward to getting together when life settles down again in the fall.
So, I guess you can tell that the yarn would be a lovely prize!!
Thanks for doing this, it was fun.

  12. Now that I’ve read the other comments…I would LOVE to get to Rhinebeck too!!! MMMMMM

  13. I’m also looking forward to cooler weather. I’m a knitter and miss knitting with wool and wool blends. I have a shaw planned out of Brooks Farms Willow, a wool and bamboo yarn. I’ve been mostly knitting with cotton all summer. I have lots of market bags made for Christmas gifts.

  14. Congrats on 3 years!

What I looking forward to this Fall – that my job settles down and I don’t have to work 70 weeks – cooler weather – we are having a very hot and humid summer – catching up on some knitting – working too hard to really find time to knit.

    I would love the yarn!

  15. Wow, looks like everyone is wishing for the same thing I am: cooler weather! Summer drags on and on and on…I’m ready for the crisp air and some holiday fun. I would love to win the yarn! I think I would have to make something for me and me only; everything I make is for someone else!

  16. Just recently found your blog and have been enjoying it!

I’m looking forward to going back to work–hard to believe, huh?

I’ve been on furlough from my job all summer, which of course has pros and cons. I had a lot of time to spend with my children (especially my daughter who goes off to Middle School on Monday) and finished off some old knitting projects. Didn’t so as much spinning as I expected but had a chance to recharge after an incredibly busy year and a half since I started the job. Unfortunately found out upon applying for it that church employees are not eligible for Unemployment Compensation, so it hasn’t been very good for my bank balance!

Anyway, as much as I would theoretically love to take up quilting, I don’t see it in the near future so I would prefer the yarn if I am the lucky one!

    Thanks for the blog!

  17. I would love the yarn and look forward to working on the Traveling Sweater pattern this fall/winter. I am a quilter but have been sidetracked by rediscovering knitting but have been inspired to get reacquainted with my sewing machine after finishing a small quilt for my first grand baby.

Congratulations on your 3rd anniversary. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.

  18. What to do, what to do…I’m a knitter and a quilter and should I win I’d have quite the dilemma! (shhh, please don’t tell my knit friends but I think I’d take the Honey Bun) I LOVE THE COLORS!!!

  19. I have two retreats coming up this fall and I’m starting to think of projects I can start cutting to be prepared. The fabric would be a perfect addition.

  20. I am looking forward to living in a new (to me) house! I hope I am also looking at one, not two, house payments. So I need to win, since I won’t be spending money on yarn for a long time!!!! The quilt fabric looks beautiful, but I so do not quilt anymore.

  21. On my … I look forward to EVERYTHING in the fall! Mostly Halloween! but love the crisp air, falling leaves and invigorating season! I’ a knitter but have recently taken up with sewing! So if i’m lucky enough to win… I’d be happy either way. Happy Anniversary!
Do you ever do hand quilting? Could you recommend a beginners hand quilting book?

  22. hi maria! i am looking forward to cooler weather and to bible study starting!
if i win i definitely want the fabric!! thanks for a fun giveaway. love the intrigue of the black and white. :0)
    xoxo
    kay

  23. Mmm, yummy yarn! (Which is what I want if I win this lovely contest 🙂 )

I am looking forward to my foster daughter being five for real, instead of just telling everyone that she’s five!

  24. Happy Blogiversary!! I’m looking forward to being able to knit something bigger than a sock. Right now I just can’t take having a sweater sit in my lap. As you can guess, I’d love the yarn:)

  25. Well…love your blog AND would love to win, let me see. Fabric. I am looking forward to the kids getting back to school. In November, my favorite mystery quilt designer will host her fourth mystery quilt! Also, I look forward to getting ready for the school craft show… Right now that is about it. I forward to being the winning number…lol!

    hugz
    Pam

  26. I’m just looking forward to wearing the sweaters I’ve been working on since last spring. I love summer and warm weather, but I also love fall and wearing sweaters again.

  27. This fall I’m looking forward to actually finishing the quilt I’m making for my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding present… and they’ll be married two years in October!

So I think I’d opt for the fabric, if I have a choice. (But I’m also a knitter, so if someone else claims the fabric I’d definitely accept the yarn!)

    Thank you.

  28. This fall I’m looking forward to FALL! Autumn leaves, pumpkin picking, hay rides, bonfires, and wearing sweaters!! I’d love to win the yarn. I’ve never worked with Plucky Knitter, but I’ve heard so much about it! Congrats on the blog-a-versary!

  29. This fall I’m looking forward to the quilting retreat at my church. It’s not really a “retreat” as we don’t sleep there, but it’s two solid days of quilting, fellowship and food! I’m also looking forward to getting our homeschooling off to a great start.

  30. I’m looking forward to lovely cooler weather, and the coming of the birthday season in my family. Also, hand knit socks. Finally have a pair almost finished for me after a pair for other deserving ladies in the family.
Also, a friend is getting married in November, though it getting closer means she’ll be moving out of the country sooner…
Thank you for the giveaway! Tick off my entry for the yarn, please. =)

  31. Pick me, pick me! I love the fabric and pattern. Aside from the obvious joy of sending kids back to school (and actually having some time to quilt again!), I am looking forward to our fall break trip to Florida in October. Happy 3rd anniversary!

  32. This seems to be a recurring theme, but the main thing I’m looking forward to at this point is RELIEF FROM THE HEAT. It is a sauna outside. We’re talking 100 degrees and 90% humidity. That is just WRONG. I’m also looking forward to fall knitting. It’s hard to get excited about wool when you are already sweating profusely. When the weather starts to turn autumn-y it always recharges my knitting mojo.

If you couldn’t already tell, I’d prefer the yarn. PICK ME!!

  33. I’m going to be spending a week in Lisbon.

  34. Hi! I’m looking forward to getting back to normal. I’ve been recovering from major back surgery these past couple months. I’ve been able to knit/finish a couple shawls so just *maybe* I will be able to bend down and block them!!! Oh to be normal again!!

  35. Congrats to you on the third year. I am both a knitter and a quilter and would love to be entered into either group.

No plans of late, just started a new job and it’s quite an adjustment!

  36. I am looking forward to the 3 quilt camps that I get to go to this fall. I would love the fabric!!!!!

    Thanks for the giveaway!!!

  37. Happy blogiversary! I am looking forward to the cooler temperatures and the lovely colors that fall brings. I am a better knitter than quilter so would like the yarn if chosen.

  38. Congratulations on your anniversary – three years of inspiration for the rest of us to follow!

I am looking forward to starting an Elizabeth Zimmerman pie shawl in a yummy hand dyed merino coupled with a gorgeous mohair to match. My first pattern in the round, and I am going to work on it while visiting a friend in Alaska. Knitting a fun pattern while in great company, looking out at the glaciers while I work – it should be a blast!

More impartantly, I’m looking forward to seeing what YOU have planned for this fall!!

If selected, I’d love the yarn. 🙂

  39. Happy Blogiversary!

Me, well hoping to move somewhere! In the event that doesn’t happen, finish a wall quilt, start/finish a Christmas wall quilt, and knit up some sweaters! My choice would be the fabric/pattern. Thanks!

  40. I am going to my 40th (!!) high school reunion! (The yarn would be a nice prize….thanks for the chance to win and happy “blogaversary” to you….)

  41. Congratulations on three years! I just started blogging, and it has been a rocky start. The learning curve is a little steep!

I am looking forward to a beach vacation in September!! And doing more crafts ( one can always hope!)

I can go either way, fabric or yarn. Equally happy with either.

  42. I’m looking forward to fall for the weather- hot sunny days and long, crisp, cool nights (the better to knit with, My Dear). The smell of the air is incredible here in Maine. And, there is the small fact that THE KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!! Not that I’m counting days or anything…

  43. I’ve been meaning to try to attempt a quilt. Winning the fabric and pattern would be a great start and kick in the butt!

  44. I am looking forward to the leaves changing colors in the fall. The trees on the bluffs look like nature’s patchwork quilts as they change to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. It’s my favorite time of year. I’m just a beginning knitter so the fabric is a better choice for me! I really enjoy seeing your beautiful knitting. Maybe someday I’ll get that good, but for now I will just stick to quilting!

  45. I am a knitter and seamstress. I wouldn’t call myself a quilter, but I have made 2 so far and I hope to do more quilting in the future. Since I’m on a sewing kick now I’d rather have the fabric and pattern. Thanks for the opportunity!

Congratulations on three years! I have been reading since the start and have ejoyed all of your posts:)

    • I forgot to say what I’m looking forward to this fall! I am most looking forward to getting back on our homeschooling schedule. I feel so out of whack right now because of the crazy end to summer here. I am also looking forward to bonfires and fun daytrips with friends. We have lots of those planned and I am very happy about that!

  46. Happy Anniversary Maria! I truly have enjoyed seeing your projects fly off the needles and sewing machine! And I have felt your pain on the housecleaning/laundry detail. Your blog always makes me smile.

I would be very grateful if I won the yarn (no matter the color).

Fall? Well, I’m starting a coat and a pair of cabled mittens. Both will be challenging as far as new techniques and difficulty. No vacations planned, just getting into that mode of cooking for cooler weather.

  47. I wish you a very HAPPY BLOGGER ANNIVERSARY! You are one of the main reasons that I found the courage to go ahead and blog, so let me thank you again for your encouragement! You and your creativity continue to be so very inspirational.
Looking forward to whatever promise tomorrow holds. Have been learning about living in the moment! Knitting, quilting, harvesting the garden … Sheep & Wool at Rhinebeck, cool night air. Happy healthy children – I’ll take it all and be very happy and grateful! Oh, and if perchance you pick me …. yarn.

  48. Happy Blogiversaray. I am glad you write, because I enjoy reading.
This fall I am looking forward to getting my crafting mojo back…I don’t have central ac…the living/dining rooms are my favorite place in the house to craft, and are currently just too hot. This autumn I know I will be totally motivated to jump back into some weaving (already have the warp wound off) and some quilting – already have a half done bento box quilt to finish for my own room.
I would love to win the fabric.

  49. I’m looking forward to sweaters!! Thankfully, it’s not been very hot where I live this summer, but I have two sweaters that are nearing completion (sleeves for one, and sleeves + button band/collar for the other) that I’m looking forward to wearing. Also, my handknit socks. I’ve finished a bunch that I haven’t worn yet. And being the knitter, I’d love the yarn! Can’t go wrong w/ Plucky Knitter, no matter the color. 😉

  50. Wow! Happy blogger anniversary. I enjoy your blog so much and it is part of my day to see what you have updated, thankyou. I am looking forward to spending time with my DIL who is pregnant. I have a project I decided to take on to get rid of some of my stash. My Daughter’s school where she teaches has a craft fair and I have decided to make hats and mitts and baby sox and who knows what else? I am actually making a sweater for me that might fit and 2 sweaters for 2 little, soon to walk boys. A little travel and some knit shops and I am happy. I am still adjusting to being out of work, and so are a lot of other people. I am fortunate that I only miss working.

  51. I am definately looking forward to school starting so I can be much more productive with my sewing, I have done a lot of organizing this summer but not sewing. So in a few weeks I’ll be down to just one at home. And of course, I sew and not knit! Congrats & thanks for the chance!

  52. So this is how you find out who reads your blog? By offering a giveaway?? Hehe.. I’m looking forward to baking apple pies and finishing my Mr. Greenjeans that was inspired by yours – in the same yarn – Boomerang in Wild Oaks. Congrats on your anniversary! And.. oh, please, Plucky Knitter MCN! I don’t own a sewing machine!

  53. I just want the temps to get to about 80 or 85. We have not had much of a summer because it has been so HOT! I plan on finishing my daughters Babbette Blanket and then start my daughter in laws cashmere scarf for Christmas. I really would like to be exclusively knitting on my poinsettia scarf and also start a shawl with my brown/copper blue heron. Happy anniversary, I look forward to reading whats going on with you almost every day? I would like the yarn please!

  54. CONGRATULATIONS 🙂 I´m looking forward to cosy evenings at the fireplace and sipping hot tea while sewing or knitting. Lots of candles, golden leafs and less tourists 😉
What I´d love to win ? Hm… I think it´ll be easiest to ship yarn :-))

  55. Congrats on 3 years!

This term I will finish my PhD thesis no mater what! And to keep me motivated (because it is the kind of thing you pull you own hair out for – and the hair of those around you) I will attempt to knit my first sweater. I am doing a vest now, but I really want to try out a sweater. The yarn would be a great way to get started ;-)!

  56. Congratulations on your 3yrs! I am so looking forward to the fall for cooler temperatures & hopefully a trip out west hiking.

  57. I’m looking forward to enjoying our new home – we’re moving at the end of August. The new place has a garden, and much better lighting inside the house, perfect for knitting!

  58. Oh, I love both the fabric and the yarn. I’m hoping to knit myself my first sweater this fall, as well as sew my son his first twin-sized quilt. I love seeing you projects!

  59. I would love either the fabric or the yarn, as I knit and quilt. I am looking forward to a new grandbaby later this year. I have a granddaughter who is 16 mo. and a grandson due in December. So I am busy with making baby items and little girl items! I love all your projects and thanks for the inspiration.

  60. Wow look at all of these comments, Thank you for having the contest. If I should be lucky enough to win I would love the yarn.

Fall—my birthday is in fall, a quick trip to the shore is in the fall, hopefully this oppressive heat and humidity will be gone then, it will be time to start planning the holidays, and the knitting will continue all autumn long!!!

Can’t wait to see Cloud Chaser and what you are working on currently!!!!

  61. So many comments, but what a fun contest.

I’m looking forward to cooler weather, of course, and the Montpelier Fiber festival in October. It’s the only festival I’ll be able to get to this year and the pennies are accumulating for my splurge. I’m also looking forward to having my Christmas knitting done. Yarn, in case you can’t tell.

    Happy Blogiversary!

  62. I’m looking forward to crisp weather, breaking out all the knits I’ve been working on, bright orange leaves set against bright blue skies, apple cider, and pumpkin flavored everything!

(I’m a knitter through and through)

  63. Happy Blogiversary! I’m looking forward to cooler weather. It has been so hot here this summer.

    p.s. I’m a knitter!

  64. This fall will bring cool breezes that dance the leaves across the lawn while I sit and sip a cup of coffee with vanilla caramel cream. My feet will be propped up on a nice fluffy pillow while I am taking a break from working on my purple, butterfly, batik quilt! I will sit there enjoying the cool crisp air while enjoying the wonderful memories from summer. I might knit my new pinks and browns shawl or my purple socks…but probably I will just sit and enjoy the beautiful fall weather and dream about the fall and the upcoming holidays! Fall is my favorite time of year!

I would prefer the material for a new quilt if I win!

I enjoy your blog…thank you so much for sharing….I find it inspiring and motivating.

    Vanessa in Oklahoma

  65. I’ll take the yarn or the fabric 🙂 At our house quilting season hits right at the same time as hunting season! So I’m looking forward to a couple of quilt retreats while hubby is off chasing fur and feathers ;P

  66. Congratulations on 3 years! I can’t wait for fall because it means my baby boy will be turning one. At the same time, I don’t want fall to come because it means my baby boy will be turning one. :o) I’d love the yarn AND fabric, but if I have to choose, I’ll go with the yarn. :o)

  67. Happy blogoversary!
I’m looking forward to cooler weather (it’s HOT in Europe this summer), to loooong walks in the autumn forest, to a fire in the fireplace, to a first smile of my newbor baby, to long evenings of knitting (or stitching, or just enjoying autum)

  68. Right now I am looking forward to the cooler weather as it is a scorcher here in Wisconsin. I can’t wait to break out the sweater that I put aside unfinished as it was too hot to have in my lap. Also fall is my fav time of year, with the cool weather, the beautiful colors and the wool sweater airing out for winter. I love to knit and always have several projects going at once. I would love the yarn as I have as of yet to score some of that Plucky yarn.

  69. I’m planning on serious de-hoarding and downsizing this fall/winter. Tired of all the stuff, it’s getting in the way of yarn and fabric storage!

  70. Hey! Congrats on the blogiversary! You probably already know what I am looking forward to the most for this fall…….my first grand baby! Everything else pales in comparison! And I would love either prize…..Yup! I quilt too…..

  71. I’m looking forward to cooler temps so I can finish my Yggdrawil afghan I started last spring. To hot to sit witha huge lap full of wool! Congratulations on three years of blogging. I would be thrilled with either the yarn (me) or fabric (gift for my quilting sister).

    Thanks!

  72. I’m soooo looking forward to low dew point along with low humidity.! Yarn, please.

  73. Wow! Has it been three years already? Congrats!
I’m looking forward to watching our family’s transition as our oldest child goes off to college. Put me in for the yarn please.

  74. I just found your blog and am now a follower. I would luv to win the Martinique jelly roll.
I’m looking forward to come cooler days and starting in September my goal is to finish one UFO a month….and I have about 10 years of UFO at one a month.

  75. For the fall I’m looking forward to less humidty and fewer mosquitoes! I want to finish a Philosopher’s Wool sweater that is in hibernation for the summer. I am also a quilter and I look forward to setting up my Hinterberg and getting some machine quilting done. I would be honored to have either the yarn or the fabric – – since I share your dilemma!

  76. I am looking forward to cooler temps and less humidity! And the pretty leaves. I would love to win the fabric. Congrats on three years!

  77. I’m looking forward to having my sister come and visit me in October!!! I live in France and even though I’ll be going to Seattle soon to visit family, she (who lives in New York) won’t be able to join us this year. Her husband has business in Paris this autumn, and I can’t wait to play tourist with her. Shame she doesn’t knit, and doesn’t want to learn! I don’t quilt and won’t let myself learn until I’ve cleared out my yarn stash (as if), so I’d choose the mystery color yarn– and thanks for having a contest!

  78. I’m looking forward to having time to knit something for me! This summer has been baby baby baby knits with all my friends and family getting knocked up! hee hee
I am fairly certain I have a Cloud Chaser on my horizon in the fall! Yay

  79. I am looking forward to many things, such as an 8-month training coming to an end so I have more time for knitting. BUT the biggest thing I’m looking forward to is becoming a Grandma for the 6th time…but this time, I will have my first granddaughter.

I look forward your blogs and photos of all your projects. You are such an accomplished knitter and quilter!!!

  80. I’m most looking forward to cooler weather…….at this point, I’d even love just 10 degrees……..It is unbelievably hot………….Last night at 1am it was still close to 90 degrees 97 heat index. I want to be able to quilt and knit out in the back yard again……..Wonderful giveaway and keep blogging, I’ve enjoyed reading yours for a while now. Thanks….I just started a traveling woman shawl because I saw it on your site this week.

  81. Oh man I want cooler weather: I’ve been roasting in Chicago and then visiting my parents (and leaving my children) in Florida and the weather is the SAME! How did that happen. Classes start for me in about a week and I can’t imagine teaching and sweating in front of students. lol.

  82. Congratulations on your anniversary!

I’m looking forward to the cooler weather, for sure. We’ve had a miserably hot and humid summer and I’m ready for it to cool off and to watch the leaves turn. I used to hate fall because I always associated it with school, but now that i’m finally done with school, I love it!

Thanks for having the contest! I would love to have the yarn.

I love your blog! I rarely miss one of your posts!

  83. Looking forward… a work trip to Norway which I have converted into a visit-family trip and my boss is paying! (still have to work a couple of days though) And the best thing – both my aunt and cousin are rarely seen without their knitting.

  84. Happy Blogiversary…three years is quite an accomplishment! I’m looking forward to much less heat and humidity, a trip to Italy next month, caring for my 22 month old granddaughter while my daughter pursues another degree, and knitting two Einstein coats (I know…I’m late to the party but I love them…I always had a difficult time commiting to a color!). As much as I’m grateful for A/C, I can’t wait to curl up next to a warm, toasty fire!

  85. As both a knitter and a quilter I can relate to the tug of war between two passions. I applaud you for accomplishing so much! I have lots of finished shawls and mitts and a lot of quilting WIPs. I’m looking forward to cooler weather when I can not only wear my shawls and mitts but also see my friends wear theirs. Last Christmas I made mitts for a few friends and this year I have made shawlettes for women in my office. Wouldn’t it be cool to see seven women draped in bright colored wool at our fall faculty meeting?

Keep up the great work! You inspire me with each post.

  86. i would love to win the yarn. It is my 16th anniversary on the 14th also! No plans to go away, hub was very ill and i’m on 1/2 FMLA for a while (after several weeks of fully being off, but i had to go back to be able to pay bills), so i am not even adding to my stash these days! 🙂

  87. Hmmmmm, what am I looking forward to? I’m looking forward to getting my fall decorations out. I love spreading fall leaves and faux pumpkins on anything that will sit still. I’m looking forward to burning pumpkin pie candles. I’m looking forward to my hands not being so sticky from the heat when I knit. I’m looking forward to cuddling under quilts. Fall hints at the upcoming holidays, and I’m excited for those. Fall seems so far away.

  88. HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY PASSING DOWN CRAZY! I think I’ve been reading your blog for almost that long 😉

I am looking forward to going home to South Africa to see my family for the holidays, God willing of course! I am a quilter and a knitter, but if I had to choose just one of these lovely prizes I would love the fabric!

    Thank you!

  89. Hi, I am looking forward to cooler weather. Completing some quilts and small shawls I have started. Your blog is just delightful. Enjoy it so much each and every day,

  90. I’m looking forward to my sister visiting, my sister -in-law visitng? and walking in the trees on the golden days of September and October.

  91. I am a knitter and I am looking forward to the arrival of my first baby this fall!

  92. I just looked to see how long I have been following your blog. I have a speed dial page saved on Feb. 17, 2008, and I know I had been reading before that. I feel like I know you! I am a knitter and I’m looking forward to the weather getting cool enough here in Texas that I can actually wear the cotton summer sweater that I just finished! Happy Anniversary!

  93. Congrats on the blogiversary! I think I’ve been reading from the very beginning.

As for fall, nothing really changes. No kids to go back to school and work will continue. But once I get a few knitting projects with deadlines completed, I want to finish several WIPs that have been hanging out hibernating. One is a red sweater that I started in 2005! And if I win, I’ll go for the yarn.

  94. I’m looking forward to taking some time off. It’s crunch time for the next three weeks, with a long-term project finally ready to fly. But wow, has it ever taken it out of me!

I’d also love to look forward to knitting something with that yarn!

  95. I am hoping to finish a new bed quilt for my bedroom by fall. DH is going to paint the room for me, so I have to get going! I’m also hoping to finish a crocheted baby blanket. My youngest daughter moves back to college, so life at home will change once again. Oh, and I’m taking online classes, too. Actually, all I’m hoping for right now is cooler temperatures! (and I’d love to win the fabric to give me a fun new project to start!) dsb448@att.net

  96. Happy Blogiversary!

I knit and quilt so either would do. Honestly, what I’m looking forward to this fall – a week or two at home working on projects in progress. Knitting, stitching and quilting. Maybe I’ll even finish something!!!

  97. I am looking forward to my son’s first words and first steps! He is one in October so both should be happening very soon. Also hoping that yarn will be mine. yum.

  98. Congratulations on three years of dedicated blogging! It’s a lot of work, and we do appreciate it. I always leave your posts with a smile. This fall will be my first one with no homeschoolers, since 1998. Not quite sure what I’ll do, but no doubt many things will vie for the time left open. It was a good ride! One thing is certain–the knitting needles will still be clicking away. Yarn is always welcome in this household.

  99. The heat is relentless with 38 days of humid, over 95 degrees weather. I want a little relief – maybe in the 80s. I’m looking forward to my Mom’s fall squash and pumpkin crop, with some peas and sweet potatoes too. Thank you for this giveaway. Martinique would be perfect. I have a little, yet not enough for a quilt yet. Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

  100. I am looking forward to the apple harvest – pies, breads, and yummy apples in my lunch. We usually go with my brother and make a day of going up to the foothills and selecting a wide variety of apples, freshly harvested, for eating and cooking.

  101. Along with most everyone – cooler temps! I’m an avid baker and LOVE baking in the fall. Thanks for the giveaway – you’re great and a favorite blog of mine. I covet the fabric.

  102. Congrats on your aniversery. I am looking forward to my son starting his first year of college. He is so excited that it makes it easier. I would love the yarn. I am disabled and spend alot of my day knitting to help deal with my situation. Knitting helps to heal almost anything.

  103. Congrats on three years of blogging. I always enjoy your posts.

This fall I am looking forward to the return of cooler temperatures. This summer has been a scorcher in Toronto and I’m eager to not have the AC running 24/7 just to keep the apartment tolerable. I’m also looking forward to my friends’ wedding in September.

    I’m a knitter.

  104. i would love to win the fabric, i am really into jelly rolls right now. thanks for the giveaway

  105. I’m looking forward to having more energy after this heat wave is over????!!! Ummm….I’d love the fabric.

  106. Congrats on three years! I think the yarn sounds fabulous, even with the mystery colour – thanks for the giveaway!

  107. I’ve started 2 duvet covers (pieced)and 3 other wall hanging quilting projects and am looking forward to finally getting back to them and finishing them so I can start some new projects. Gotta admit that finishing UFOs is not necessarily a prerequisite to starting new projects tho. New fabric calls for new ideas, you know and I’d love to make some matching accessory items with that Martinique!

  108. Congrats on three years! I’m looking forward to cooler temps this fall. Lots of sweaters in the queue, and even with a/c, I don’t want to hold all that on my lap. Yarn, please. I love Plucky and I love surprises!

  109. Congratulations on three years! This fall I’m looking forward to an anniversary in our house–15 years of marriage! At our 10 year, my husband faced a serious surgery, so we’ll toast to health and happiness this September!

  110. Congrats to keeping me in stitches (ha ha) for three years! I am looking forward to having all my grandkids in school this fall. My youngest grandchild turned 5 today and will start kindergarten. I’m also looking forward to watching the 15 year old play high school football for the first time.

I have both a sewing and a knitting obsession, but if I had to pick I’d probably pick the yarn since I knit more than I quilt. Tons of other sewing, but not as much quilting.

  111. Three years has been wonderful for us, thank you! Congratulations! I am a knitter and am very much looking forward to the smell of pumpkin cranberry bread, a comfortable rocker, with a handwoven basket over flowing with handspun Merino by the fireplace for a new knitting project. Fall is my favorite season and I watch her changing colors every year with awe. I need a rose colored cardigan and am thinking Tea Leaves is the way to go.

  112. I am looking forward to teaching my first university class this fall. I would love to give the fabric a good home.

  113. Fall, hopefully when life may just start to slow down a little. More time for quilting & knitting. Mostly for me everyday, a day closer to when our son returns from working overseas in Iraq. The fabric is my first pick. Congradulations.

  114. Love your blog. Looking forward to the kids going back to school – especially since my middle guy has taken over the basement – my sewing area – since coming home from college. I have limited time to sew as it is, with him living down there, even less. Fabric please.

  115. I can’t wait for the temps to drop below 90 degrees! I have lots of quilts planned, hopefully using the lovely fabric and pattern from your giveaway! I adore the fabric and pattern you are so generously offering. Thank You!

  116. Congrats on the anniversary! I’d love to be entered on the yarn. Being unemployed means lot of free time, but no cash to enjoy it. I’m going to kick old man (rec)/(depr)ession right in the teeth, and treating myself to a bus pass for the Month of October. That should be the start of Summer here in SF, and I’m going to spend the whole month running around the city taking advantage of free admission days to museums, the Zoo, the Hall of Science, and just anywhere I can think of.
