Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

My Give A Darn Is Busted

The title sounds like a country song, doesn’t it?  It probably is!

I have one speed this week and it’s reaaaalllllly slow.  I guess I should just be glad it’s not reverse.  After the big reunion last weekend, several people in this house ended up with sore throats and colds.  Any time I do anything at all, I feel like I’ve run a marathon.  So, I’m mostly just making dinner, sitting around, and falling asleep in random places.

And I’ve been knitting a very little bit.  I started the Plucky Curacao Cowl.

I’ve changed the pattern a bit.  (I guess that means my brain is functioning occasionally!)  I did a provisional cast on.  That way I can do a three needle bind off.  I’m also doing cables on the center section.  In the pattern, the smocking was added afterward.  I didn’t like that idea!  The yarn is Luscious Single Silk from Blue Moon Fiber Arts.  The colorway is Spinel.  I should have done some color correcting on the photo, but since I only have one speed, I’m saving my energy.

I just made chicken enchiladas and fresh salsa for dinner and now I’m ready to knit…or fall asleep.

We’re supposed to have sunshine and cool weather for the weekend.  I may be hanging out in my rocking chair by the fireplace!  Hopefully my mojo to do anything will return by Monday.

  1. Yes it’s a song – My give a d#am’s busted sung by Joe Diffe!

  2. it’s good to see you post and always you show something wonderful! Give yourself some time and space to recoup – you deserve it. I finally ordered from Blue Moon. Thrilling.

  3. nice knitting, interesting cable patterns something I have not really expanded on yet!!!!
