Before I forget…I just listed a boatload of yarn for sale on ravelry. I can finally walk through my bedroom again!!!
So, what’s in my knitting bag? I have lots of bags, but I’m currently using this one:
It’s an oilcloth bag, so I can just wipe it off when it gets dirty. Here’s what I have inside. (I thought it would be more exciting. Sorry!)
Of course, my Seascape shawl is in there. ( Just scroll back a few posts, and you’ll see details on that.) And then there’s a sock in progress. I haven’t made socks in ages! I’m 47 and always hot. I never wear socks. I just wanted to make these! (Yep! There’s my trusty sidekick!)
The yarn is Socks That Rock and it’s a Rare Gem. The pattern is called South Fork by Linda Welch. Go buy the pattern. She’s donating all the proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma society.
I met Linda at sock camp in April. She’s just a classy lady…and lots of fun. She runs marathons and she’s skinny. I like her anyway!!!
Next up is a really weird project. I’m going to have to knit about 400 yards of yarn and trust that it ends up being really cool!
Not impressed yet, are you? Here’s the yarn.
It’s Habu N-6B Konnyaku Sizing Silk. It’s a bunch of strands of silk bonded together with root sizing. After I finish the scarf, I’ll soak it, which removes all the sizing. I will then in theory have a seductively draping lace scarf. I have some knitting to do first, so I’ll just have to trust that its going to work. Oh, the pattern is Cassarah by Sherri Berger of The Loopy Ewe. It was part of a kit, but will be available to purchase in November.
So…that’s my knitting bag. I’m also working on a really cool diagonal Noro scarf, but I guess that’s in the car. It’s my no brain knitting for sports events and waiting for kids.
Now that the yarn is sorted and under control, guess what I’m going to do?
I had my spinning lesson on Tuesday and it was a lot of fun. More on that soon! Gotta go spin! I need more yarn….haaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!
