I modeled my Hypernova!
What? That wasn’t what you were looking for? Neither was I! I was planning to head outside for my glamour shot….maybe by the fireplace. Then I ended up running my taxi service and it gets dark so early. (Thanks to Frankie for being my photographer!)
The pattern is Hypernova by Arlene’s World of Lace. I made the shawlette verson that uses two skeins of Wollmeise. I did have to eliminate about 6 rows near the end or I would have run out of yarn.
Oh, the yarn….love this yarn! It’s Blue Moon Fiber Arts Marine Silk Worsted. I used all of 4 skeins. This yarn is heavenly to knit with and the drape is amazing. It’s 51% silk, 29% merino and 20% SeaCell Rayon. I will definitely be using this yarn again.
There are a few mistakes, because the pattern was mind numbingly boring once the setup was complete. I had a terrible time fixing mistakes along those double yarnovers. Sometimes mistakes really bug me when I finish a project. I don’t think mine will even be noticed when I wear it.
I also bought a flower for my hair last night. At Target!
Am I too old to wear a flower in my hair? I could wear it on the shawl too!
I need to go pack! I’m leaving tomorrow for my knitting and spinning retreat. This retreat is the reason I learned to spin in the first place. I have no idea what I’m bringing for knitting projects. And I suppose I should bring some clothes along too.
Pray for My Hero. He gets to deal with The Bickersons by himself for a week! He’s great at the Mr. Mom thing except that he can’t cook. The kids already have their take-out rotation figured out. They’ll be just fine. Right?
Oh, and the idea of being a model when I grow up? Not gonna happen. I’d have to starve for a year first.
