Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Playing Is Hard Work

I’m exhausted, and all I did today was sit around and spin yarn.

We have a very well known and very interesting teacher for our spinning class.  Her name is Judith MacKenzie McCuin.

This is a silk hankie that she’s waving around.  We spun that.

We also spun tussah silk, bombyx silk, blueface leister and silk, yak and silk, alpaca and silk, and cashmere and silk.

Don’t you just wish you could touch this?  It’s heavenly.

You’ll be happy to know that while I didn’t win best of class, I didn’t make a fool of myself either.

After dinner tonight, we dyed silk scarves.  These were done with indigo dye.

Mine is the second from the right hanging on the clothesline.

We also painted scarves.

Mine is the black one with the dots.  I love it!

There may or may not have been some roving and yarn purchased today as well.  I’m not telling.

I’m going to bed…as soon as I put away the roving and yarn that I didn’t buy that’s all over my bed.

  1. Oh Oh. Does that mean you stole it? I like the name of the yarn shop even though I hate mice.

  2. I love the Jackson Pollack you used on you indigo silk scarf! How did you achieve that spatter look?

  3. You never tell! We only learn about your purchases when you use it and mention that you purchased the yarn at some event ions ago…
