…but I’m ready to go home!
I left my room once today and that was to walk down to the lobby and get coffee.
I did lots of spinning. I spun 4 oz of Polwarth from Woolgatherings. This is my first attempt at navajo plying. If you don’t know what that is, it’s turning one strand of yarn into three plys. There is a bit of gymnastics involved, but it’s not bad at all. (I watched a wonderful youtube video and that’s how I learned.)
Excuse the lousy photo, but it get’s dark at 4:30 these days!!! And yes, it rained all day. Big surprise!
Yesterday I finished spinning all the fiber we were given in our spinning class. I was thinking this yarn was just going to be a momento of a wonderful experience.
One ply was tussah and bombyx silk and the other ply is all the yak and wool, alpaca wool, etc. Look at the sheen. I have 270 yards and I’m going to knit something out of it.
I’m going to finish packing. (And no, I didn’t have to ship anything home. I stuffed it all in!) Then I’m going to clean up and go downstairs for dinner. I’m out early tomorrow morning to catch my flight back home. Usually when I leave, everything goes nuts at home, but unless they’re all lying, everyone did just fine without me.
I’m sure they missed my laundry and cooking skills though!
And I’m ready to see them!
