Where Did The Week Go?

I haven’t posted since last Saturday.  I’m trying to figure out what I did this week.

I did finish Terra.  I blocked it a couple of days ago.  Guess who had to help?

Here it is!  I used 4 skeins of Berroco Vintage because I needed something superwash.  It’s really soft!  It’s a gift, so I’ll try to update you when its gifted.

What else did I do this week?  I slept all day yesterday.  I know when I don’t want to knit that something is wrong.  I think I had a fever, but it’s impossible to find a thermometer or a flashlight in this house.  Not that I needed a flashlight.  I was kind of bummed, because I really wanted to catch up on my Advent Scarf.  I did finally knit a bunch last evening and this morning, and I’m on day 10, which means I’m caught up.

I’m really liking this project, but there’s no way I’m going to be able to finish on time.  I have some days coming up before Christmas that there won’t be much knitting going on.  I found out that once you get behind even a day, it’s really hard to catch up.  But that’s ok.  I’ll have lots of time after Christmas to sit and knit at my parents house.

I had several people leave a comment that they’re starting the project.  How’s it going, y’all?

I’ve been spinning a little bit on the same stuff from the last post.  I’ve also tried to stay off of Etsy, because new roving shows up every day.

Next up?  The grocery store.  We’re in for another snow storm.  The kids aren’t too thrilled that the storms are hitting on the weekend.  They’d like a day off of school.  Dreamboy is supposed to go to snowmobile training tomorrow.  Too bad it would be illegal for him to snowmobile to class!

Have a great weekend!  May it include knitting, quilting or spinning.  I’m hoping mine includes all three!  Oh, and may there be Christmas baking thrown in for good measure.

  1. I am stalled at day 4. I decided that I have planned to have a no stress Christmas so I won’t let this get to me either. It now may be a valentine scarf.

  2. Terra is really gorgeous – I’m sure it will be much appreciated! I haven’t even considered the Advent knit, but yours is so lovely, perhaps I should take a closer look… 🙂

  3. Your scarf is beautiful of course. If it makes you feel better I am on row 12 of the first day. I will finish this weekend the wendy johnson pi shawl i started in august. it is a christmas present. happy holidays!

  4. Mob scene at the grocery store this afternoon – everyone is worried about the snow that’s coming. The employees said it was like the day before Christmas. I’m planning on baking and making Christmas candy. Now you have me thinking about the Advent scarf for after the holidays.

  5. Row 5 of first day chart. I got some beads today that hopefully will work with my yarn, which I did not take with me to the shop. (Roll eyes at will.)
In my defence, I’ve been knitting Christmas gifts. And bought yarn for other gifts today. Sucker for punishment, that’s me. But as I was showing the yarn to my knit group it all sounded so do-able.

  6. I am piling up the PDFs on my desktop-to start after Christmas. It can be my January scarf! Yours is lovely!

  7. As quickly as I was ‘sucked in’ to the Advent scarf, I backed out.

I worked day one — and then realized that it was the scarf, or finishing 2 or 3 other projects.

I opted for finishing (something must be wrong with me!!).
I finished a Baby Sophisticate and Nostalgic Pink Sweater for a friend’s grandchildren.

Today, I am completing the Sally Melville Gray Cardigan — in a beautiful red Venezia Worsted. It will be my Christmas sweater!!

Your scarf is lovely, and if it is any consolation to you– I am poised to start Remember tonight or tomorrow — as soon as the buttons are on the Christmas sweater!

  8. When I feel sick enough to visit my doctor, she knows me well enough to ask if I’ve been knitting! If not, then she knows I am in trouble! 🙂
