Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

True Confessions

If I confess, can I plea bargain?

What do you think this is?

Yes, folks!  this is a pile of scarves struttin’ their stuff with fun fur.

And, yes!  I wore them. A lot, actually.  It wasn’t a one time crime.

So what will be the punishment for my crime?

I’m already cleaning out my walk-in closet.  Will that suffice?

  1. I have less than zero fashion sense, and have never owned a fun fur scarf, but I have the following to say: if one is wearing black slacks and a black top (or a white top, or a gray top) it seems to me that a fun fur scarf could give the outfit that little bit of “oomph” to jazz it up from boring blah to out drinking fun. No?

  2. Hey, They were popular and fun. So time changes. Like bell bottoms, like white fashion stretch boots, like mini skirts, like popit beads, like long dresses in the 1800s. No crime, just dump them.

  3. I admit that I gave mine away….that was then and it was OK at the time.

  4. How about frogging them and using them in combination with something else to spin some of the new “art yarns” Might be a fun spinning exercise to see what you come up with. (~_~)

  5. Oh my. I thought it was a pile of colorful seaweed when I first looked at it. You know better now, so no harm-no foul. I have a few too – my few attempts to knit.

  6. I have used up a little fun fur on the cuff of baby socks — new Moms seem to think it’s okay. I’m wondering about your Advent scarf. I finally finished mine – eight days late, skipping Day 20 because it was just too much trouble!

  7. The best thing about the fun scarf craze was that it got a lot of people knitting that had never knit before. They were a fun quick project that didn’t even show mistakes.

  8. You make it sound like a bad thing! 😉

  9. Haha! Cleaning out that closet is punishment enough!
