I have nothing cohesive in my brain today. I’m sitting on my bed, looking at a very messy bedroom. I’m in the process of sorting my entire closet. I’ve also had a yucky stomach for over a week now. We’ve had the strangest flu going around since we were in Texas at Christmas. One person would get it, and four days later it would hit someone else. I didn’t get sick. I just feel sick. Fun!
So…on to the meandering. Here’s the photo we put on our Christmas card.
This is the artwork of Pastor Adam, our youth pastor. About 8 years ago My Hero decided to bid on a Volkswagen Bug on eBay. It was our first eBay purchase. We had a family picture taken with the car that year. The car is orange in the front and red in the back and has flames on it with the Tobasco logo in several places.
So…this year, we forgot to take a family photo when we were all together, so this was plan B. Merry Christmas!!!
Knitting? I’ve been knitting a lot. On a lot of things. I told you my brain was meandering. Here’s my last finish of 2010.
It’s a ruffle scarf. I’ll bet you already figured that out. The yarn is Luscious Silk from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. The color is Stormy Weather. There were well over 1,000 stitches on the outside rows. I used Rowan Kidsilk Haze on the last few rows and added beads, scattered here and there.
Superblonde claimed it, which was fine because I was making it for her.
I do have one finish for this year. I made a cowl from some of my handspun.
I’m calling it my 70’s Appliance Color cowl. The pattern is a freebie called the Ithacowl. I like it a lot and it’s much softer than it looks.
My closet is scary! I looked through my finished knits from 2010 and I’ve hardly worn any of them. So what do those two sentences have in common? Let me tell you. I need to come up with a better way to store my handknits. I need to be able to see them so I remember to wear them. When I clean out one cupboard, I should have a couple of 1980’s knits to show you as well!
Next subject…spinning. I’m working on some yarn for The Genius. It was supposed to be for Christmas, but I didn’t have time to finish it. More on that later.
Quilting…my sewing room is pretty messy, so I need to clean that up and then see what projects talk to me. I’m in the mood to quilt…as soon as I work my way out of my messy closet.
I may have reached the end of my brain for today. I hope it regenerates quickly! Until it does, it’s back to my messy closet.
