Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Still Spinning Around!

After the eyeball searing brightness of the last yarn I showed you, this should bring on a sigh of relief!  It’s soothing and quiet!

For Christmas my Mom gave me a three month subscription to Woolgathering‘s fiber club.  This is the third installment.  I have 4 ounces spun and navajo plied, with another 4 ounces to go.  At this point, I have 440 yards.  And…I already know what I’m going to knit with it.

If you’d like some of this yarn, it looks like Kate spun some of it up to sell.  And her photos on Etsy are more accurate than mine are.

If I had to choose just one source for spinning fiber, it would be Woolgatherings!!!

I’ve also been quilting.  I’m making 16 of these blocks.

I’m not enjoying it either.  My rule when I’m working on knitting and quilting is that if it’s not fun, I’m not doing it.  There are way too many have to’s in life.  Unfortunately, this time I want the finished project, so I’m going to have to stick it out.  After I finish 16 of these, I have to do 20 of them with the colors reversed.  Fun times!

And, on top of it, I’m ripping!

Oh, well!  I have my next project planned and it’s pretty, soft spring colors.

Speaking of quilting, I should get back at it.  My Hero is out of town for a couple of days.  That means Chinese take-out tonight.  Which also means….. no cooking!!!!!

  1. Ohh, Im liking that quilt block….what is the name of the pattern?

  2. Hmmm…that quilt block doesn’t look like you at all colorwise. It looks more like ME! 🙂 Ripping makes anything less fun.

  3. I also am wondering about the quilt pattern. Can you share?

  4. Your yarn is lovely. Very soft and soothing. 🙂

  5. Soothing yarn; classic quilt. Awright!

The eye-searing yarn is fun but I am wondering how you managed to spin it and further, how you will manage to knit it! LOL. It has “wow” factor.

  6. I finally checked out Woolgathering shop. WOW!! You’re such a pusher, of the fiber variety! Between that and Sweet Sheep, I’ll never want for a spinning fiber source. Thanks, Maria. 🙂

  7. LOVE that block!!! I bet it’s a pain in the rear, though. I just finished a quilt that I was sick of by the time I was done with it. I know that feeling. Keep on keepin’ on, lady.
