Knitting on the Beach?

My Hero commented yesterday that I was probably the only woman he knew that knit on the beach.  I’m betting that’s not true!  I’ve been knitting squares with Noro Kureyon to make Paintbox Log Cabin blanket.

My sister and I also worked on Hexagons last week.  Mine are 1 inch and hers are only 1/2 inch.  Look how tiny they are!

I also finished my Budding Apple.  If you remember, I won the yarn, needles, and pattern from Anne Hanson’s blog.  I’m waiting until I get home to block it.  I threw pins in my suitcase, but it would be so much easier to wait until I have my blocking wires.

I’ve also been knitting a shawl with some handspun, but I haven’t taken a photo of it yet.  I’m really liking it though.

Yesterday I did something that I haven’t done in somewhere between eight and thirteen years.  I can’t remember.  I went Scuba Diving with My Hero.  (Scuba was my favorite class in college!!!)  I can’t believe I’m even putting in such a bad photo of me, but I have to prove I did it.  You can see the marks from the mask on my forehead.

I didn’t want to go at all very badly, but I knew my favorite person in the world would be thrilled if I went.  And he was.  And…I had a blast!  Sometimes it’s a good thing to get out of your comfort zone.

This photo is for my sis.  They left on Monday so I have a sunset photo for her.

We have two days left to do nothing but knit sit on the beach and watch the sunset.  It’s been an amazing two weeks!  What a way to celebrate 25 years of marriage.

Thanks, honey, for a great 25 years.  Now it’s time to gear up for the next 25!

  1. Good tradition. We will be celebrating our 50th this fall with knitting on the beach.

  2. congrats! looks like the BEST vacation and celebration ever!

  3. I’m glad you pointed out that was a scuba mask mark on your forehead. I thought it was a wrinkle. 🙂 I went scuba diving with John once, because he wanted to. Neither one of us much cared for it. Oh well. We love to snorkel, though.

  4. I knit at the pool and on our lanai when we vacation in Hawaii. I get some strange looks, but it’s so relaxing.

  5. I ALWAYS knit on the beach!

And you and Your Hero look so happy – congrats on 25 years!! What a lovely vacation.

  6. Congratulations on a milestone anniversary!
You both look so happy in that picture… enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  7. Oh, so sweet! Happy Happy Anniversary to you both! You are the only person I know who can accomplish so much while on vacation- anyone besides me just want to sit in a chair and stare into that beautiful sunshine??

  8. I would be knitting on the beach if I had a beach to go to. Enjoy your last days watching those sunsets; I’m sure they just won’t look the same back in MN.
