I finally finished something! I started Keelin last August. I finished knitting, did the front bands, and had the sweater assembled except for the sleeves before we went on vacation. Last week I put the sleeves in. I looked at it and hated it. I hated the way the sleeves looked and I thought I’d have to redo the bindoff on the front bands. I just made the top of the sleeves and the front bands wet and blocked it.
It worked! Then it took me several days to get around to buying buttons. (I’m still one button short because JoAnn’s doesn’t stock more than 6 of anything.)
The only mods I made to the pattern were to shorten the sleeves and to elongate the cables. I wish I’d shortened the sleeves more. Oh, well! I like it and it fits.
I love the buttons!
I also love the knit stitches knit through the back of the stitch. I love how that stands out!
My photos decided they don’t want to be resized today, so my photos are smaller. Sorry! Flickr decides to change things on a regular basis and it drives me nuts!
And now it’s time to hit the Advil and the couch. I have a lovely cold with a sore throat and sore ears. I may have another finish soon if I concentrate. I did get distracted by a new project the other night, but I’m back on track now! And there’s a long Nascar race tonight!
Happy Memorial Day! I’m so thankful for all of our troops, past and present, for the sacrifices they made and continue to make for our country.
