Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

A Genius Project!

Remember this yarn?

This is the Blue Moon Fiber Arts Bluefaced Leicester/Tussah that I spun for The Genius for Christmas.  Except that I didn’t finish spinning it until March.

Look what she knit!

I would really like to keep this, but she told me I have to knit my own.

The pattern is The Radiance Shawl by Helen Stewart.  I think she chose well.  The handspun and pattern are a perfect combination!

Can you believe she was bald until she was 18 months old?  The girl has hair!

She told me that this may be her favorite yarn ever.  That makes it worth it to spin over 1,000 yards of laceweight.  Actually, by buttering me up, she just scored another 850 yards of handspun.  More about that as soon as it’s dry!

I wonder if I could get by with hiding it.  Maybe she’d forget to take it back to school!

Today is yarn dyeing day!  I think we’re going to be in the garage.  The forecast is for rain for the next several days.  We’ve both been looking at patterns and dreaming in color about future projects.  Fun!
