Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Watching Guys Do Stupid Things Faster

Since this is a knitting and quilting blog, I will show you some yarn before we get to the title of this post!

I spun some Blue Moon Fiber Arts merino and mulberry silk.  It took me forever!  I’m a relatively new spinner, so I can’t tell you for sure what the problem was, but this fiber was a pain to spin.  There were spots that were so stuck together that I had to pull like crazy to get it apart.  I think it was because the silk wasn’t carded in with the merino very well.  That wasn’t BMFA’s fault.  It would have been their supplier.  Anyway, The Genius was home at the right time, because by the time I finished spinning this, I never wanted to see it again.

I should quit complaining now, because it ended up gorgeous.  And it feels like heaven.  It’s just not as even as I’d have liked.  It’s 880 yards of fingering weight.  After the last project The Genius knit with my handspun, I can’t wait to see what she does with this!

And now on to guys and stupid things they do.  The reason they do stupid things faster?

Mountain Dew!

We did some camping this weekend.  There was four wheeling, paintballing, pop can shooting, baseball watching, junk food eating, and more!  Here’s a little synopsis of their activities.

Lets just say My Hero and I sat around and laughed the entire weekend.  And I’d still be sleeping on this beautiful Monday morning if the phone hadn’t rung at 8 AM!

This week is crazy, so I’d better get busy!

  1. That has got to be one of the all-time great blog post titles! I have all of my knit blogs bookmarked to “open all in tabs” and check it a couple of times a day. Every time your blog comes up I get another chuckle out of it. haha

One of your sons (the one who is aiming a gun sort of at the camera-ish) reminds me of Bradley Cooper (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/sites/default/files/2011/03/bradley-cooper-med.jpg) That is a compliment, FYI.
