Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

I Have An Idea!

I think it’s a good idea!  It’s not very original, because other bloggers have done it, but it’s going to be fun.

I’m going to quilt my way through this book!

It’s Living Large 2 by Heather Peterson of Anka’s Treasures.  If you’d like to learn a little bit more about Heather, her blog is here!  (What you won’t learn in her blog is what a nice person she is.  She would really rather not talk about herself!!!)  If your local quilt shop doesn’t carry the book, you can order it at Fat Quarter Shop.  You can also order her newest fabric lines here.  That new Christmas line is pretty cute!

Here are some of the fabrics I’m considering for my little project.

I think everything in this stack has red in it.  That wasn’t planned!  The only project that is set in stone is Spanish Tiles.  I started it last night.  I got a long ways into it, because I drove boys to a midnight movie and picked them up after 2 AM.  I got a lot done!

I’ve already done two of the quilts in the book.  That means I have 6 more.  I’m leaning toward making one of them king size.  We’ll see how that works out!

So, stay tuned for progress reports and maybe even a giveaway or two.  Heather may join me and make a couple of the quilts.  So, watch her blog too!  And if you decide you want to join me, let me know.  You could even pick just one or two projects.  They’re all great.

And now I’m off to the sewing room.  It’s been sorely neglected the last few months.

  1. Can’t wait to see what you create!

  2. Our group just finished using the Spanish Tiles pattern to make a “group” home quilt. We will be giving it to the young man the first Sunday in August. We used 12 different car fabrics. I did all the cutting and two other ladies on our team did the sewing. I love this pattern so much!

  3. I guess I do have that fabric line – I just forgot the name. Let me know if you need some to fill in. If you don’t have the really large brown floral that goes with the line, I have some. It’s my favorite from that line!

  4. It will be fun to follow along…I have several of heather’s books I could probably do this for…because I’ve already made practically every quilt in the book! Fun to have Heather quilt along with you, too!

  5. I’m excited to see all of your updates and progress through her book. Your previous quilts you made from the book are beautiful. Because of your post about her Living Large 2 book a while back, I have followed her blog and have fallen in love with her fabric line and patterns, and am slowly saving up a few extra dollars here and there to purchase the book and her fabric. Enjoy your projects and I can’t wait to see updates!
