Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

My Fingers Are Cold!!!!!!

Yeah, right!  Most of the country is roasting and I’m knitting…..

….mittens!  This is my second Camp Loopy project.  We were to knit either socks or mittens and they had to have cables.  Now I can say I’ve knit 3 mittens in my life.  Um, yes!  I’m aware that it would be good to have knit four.  Maybe I’ll get at that one day.

My hand model was less than cooperative, so I had to shoot one handed.

The yarn is Blue Sky Alpaca Silk and you won’t find this color anywhere.  I ordered it in white and dyed it myself.  I know!  The Loopy Ewe has thousands of skeins of yarn, and I had to dye my own.  Actually, I also ordered roving at the same time and was going to spin my own yarn and then knit mittens.  Then life went crazy and that didn’t happen.

This yarn is heavenly!!!  It’s soft and has an amazing sheen.  I may need to knit something else with it in the future.

The pattern is Magic Mirror by Kristel Nyberg.

The only requirement for the third Camp Loopy project is that it must take at least 800 yards of yarn.  I haven’t decided what I’m going to knit yet, but it doesn’t start until August 15.

We have a pretty quiet weekend coming up.  I need to put a quilt together.  The blocks are done, so I should get at it.  Other than that, I think we’ll just hang out.

I need to just chill because next Thursday is a very exciting day!
