Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

The Bickersons

Have you met The Bickersons?  If you come to my home, I could introduce you.  They’re “those people” as My Hero and I not-so-affectionately call them when they’re driving us crazy.  I’ve had an unusual amount of patience this summer, but today my patience came to a screeching halt!  To be fair, it was the two youngest Bickersons that were on my last nerve.

After dinner, which was made by Superblonde (thanks, kid!) I told “those people” that I was going to run an errand and get Culver’s ice cream.  I only allow myself to eat Culver’s ice cream when they had raspberry as their flavor of the day.  However, I decided I’d eat a hot fudge sundae this time.

I also told them that I was going to take my Culvers ice cream, go in my bedroom, and shut the door.  I told them I’d see them in the morning.  My Hero is the only one allowed to talk to me tonight.  After all, he rarely gets on my nerves.

I got to Culvers and there was a long line in the drive through so I went inside.  Here’s what the guy handed me.

Yes, the flavor of the day was Red Raspberry.  Not only that but the guy decided to dump raspberries all over the top….without me even asking.

It was a “Smile!  God loves you!” moment.

I only ate part of it.  The rest of it is in the freezer for tomorrow.  And now I’m in my bedroom.  It’s quiet and I’m going to knit.   And then I’m going to sleep for a long time.

Because tomorrow is a big day.  This may be my favorite company in the world right now (other than Culvers)!

Why?

I’ll tell you soon.  (I’m not going anywhere!)

  1. I am so happy for you and your sister to have this opportunity. It will be great. I loved your last blog. I saved the scripture for myself. Thank you for sharing.

  2. The guy at Culver’s must have recognized “that look” in your eyes!
