Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Westknits Mystery!

For the last four weeks, I’ve been knitting the Westknits Mystery Shawl by Stephen West.  (I’ve been knitting other stuff too!)

Isn’t she pretty?  If you look closely, you’ll see that my model is even wearing earrings!

I wasn’t so sure of this project while I was knitting it, but blocking worked its magic yet again!

There were a couple of options for the border, and I chose the more detailed one and added a couple of rows.

The yarn was Socks That Rock from Blue Moon Fiber Arts.  I used Spinel, Saffron Jungle, and a third skein that I dyed at Sock Camp.  I haven’t knit with STR for a while and I forgot how much I love it!

And now I need to get busy.  It’s yarn dyeing day and I have lots of stuff to set up.

  6. She’s a lovely model!

  7. Maria- I’ve seen a number of West shawls, and yours stands out. The border was worth the effort, as it really makes the shawl.

    Well done.

  8. That is the best color combination I’ve seen of the bunch! Love it!

  9. Just wanted to further comment. I went to the WestKnits site and the way you did your border is by far the best looking version. I think the other versions are boring! 🙂
