Just in case you forgot (yeah, like you pay that much attention to my pontificating on crafty stuff!) I spun this yarn on New Years Eve. Yep! Such a party girl!
The fiber is BFL/Tussah from Blue Moon Fiber Arts. The color way is Morticia. It’s an aran weight three ply, and I loved it right from the start!!! Then one day I was sitting around, thinking about what to do with 200 yards of black and pinky purple yarn. I seemed to remember some Touch Me that I had stored in the cupboard in the basement. I went downstairs, opened the first cupboard and there was this squishy, amazing Touch Me.
The color was exactly the same!!!
I made a very long scarf using both yarns. I really liked it. Then I added the fringe. Oh, my goodness!!!
This is going to be so much fun to wear. I just hope I’m not too old to pull it off! It’s kind of like a flapper girl dress with a turtleneck and jeans! I wish you could feel that fringe.
The other project I’m working on lace, so of course it looks like a blob with holes in it.
See? It’s a blob with holes. This is Pulelehua by Romi. It’s from her newest shawl club. My mom got the pattern and yarn. After I saw the pattern, I joined the club, only I’m getting the pattern only. The yarn is from my Knitspot club. I don’t remember what it is right now, but it will get it’s own very detailed post when I finish it. All I know is that it has some silk in it, and the color variations is subtle and beautiful!
I’m to the point in this pattern that I have to start thinking. It’s just begging for beads, so I need to figure out where to place them. All I know is that it’s an amazing pattern and yarn and it’s going to be gorgeous.
I feel like I’m really boring lately. Most of my life is spent cleaning up messes and then creating more messes. I’m not complaining…..much. It really is a good thing that I have knitting, quilting, and spinning to distract me. Somehow, laundry just isn’t fulfilling to me!!! I wouldn’t trade my life with anyone else’s though. After all, I have My Hero and five
imperfect kids! And I’m pretty sure that every job on earth has parts that you just have to slog through! It really is worth it as I watch my kids turn into decent human beings!
There….enough of that! It’s Friday and I think I’ll go make bake something with chocolate in it for
me the kids.
