Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

Progressive Crafting

My Hero, Superblonde, and Frankie are all fishing in Alaska, so I’m on vacation with “only” two kids at home.

That means I’m Progressive Crafting.  If you’ve ever gone on a progressive dinner, you know what I’m talking about.

I sit on the couch and start a new project, complete with beads.

Then I head to my bedroom and block a couple of shawls.

And then it’s time to hang out in the living room and stitch binding!

Oops!  This one needs the binding sewn on before I can stitch it.  Yes, I finished another quilt, and it’s king size.  They look very much the same in the photos, but it’s only because that same red polka dot is in both quilts.

After a little power nap, I head back to the living room for some spinning time.  It’s Tour de Fleece time, you know.  In case you didn’t know about that little event, spinners see how much they can spin during the Tour de France.  I’m not going crazy about it, because I have other things I want to do as well.

This is what I’m working on first.

Since it’s really hot here, I also spend some time sitting on my bed under the ceiling fan, knitting on my blanket.

When I get really energetic, I’m going to head for the basement and start quilting another quilt.  This one should be done soon, don’t you think?

If I keep progressive crafting for a few more days, I should have a bunch of finished things to show you.

And now it’s time to call Applebees for some Carside to Go!

And then it’s back to my rotation!

I’m thinking next week should be Progressive Cleaning.  Somehow that doesn’t sound like nearly as much fun though.

  1. You get more done in one day than I do ALL WEEK. (Actually, if I’m honest, I’m in a slump, and you just listed more crafting than I’ve done in months…)
I can’t wait to see the full size picture of those polka dot quilts- such happy and vibrant fabrics. I’m betting they’re gorgeous. Happy Summer!!!

  2. Wow – want to come to my house and block shawls for me??? ( I have six waiting their turn.) They look great! What is the name of the bottom one?

  3. What a great idea! Crafting; not cleaning.
Trouble is … Well there’s a couple of things.
    1) Nobody went to Alaska; they’re all still here.
    2) I get too distracted in between crafts and end up starting/picking up more crafts! “Hitchcrafters” shall we say.
Enjoy your progression to completeness! :-). And stay cool! This is crazy!
