I’ve always been a fan of Stephen West’s knitting designs, so when the opportunity arose this summer to do a mystery knit, I jumped on the bandwagon, along with 2,660 other people!
Of course, I totally changed the design on the last clue. It wasn’t that I didn’t like it, but I had a lot of yarn left, and it was my handspun, so I couldn’t waste it.
It’s probably not the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever made, but it’s ok.
While I was waiting for the second clue to come out, I also started Spectra, another one of Stephen’s patterns.
I used Noro Silk Garden Sock and String Theory Caper Sock yarn for this one. There are plans in the works for a second Spectra because I really enjoyed knitting this!
There has been lots of crafting going on around here. I’ve been doing a little bit of quilting and a lot of furniture painting. I’ll just tell you that there is now black and lime green paint on my paint clothes. And I’ll inform you that My Hero is less than thrilled, but when I’m finished, he’ll see that he was wrong indeed!!!
This weekend involved a bit of camping and four wheeling. Frankie is twelve years old today!!!
And now I’d better get back to painting. This afternoon will include a pedicure, the first one in about a year. I considered posting a photo to show you why I’m going, but it’s too nasty! And after that, it’s off to a volleyball game, and then Frankie’s birthday dinner.
Whew! I need a nap!
