Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

More Adventures

Well, my plan was to get myself into some trouble every day this week.  Yesterday and today I failed!!!  My Hero and the credit card will probably thank me.

I did, however, promise to tell you about my adventure on Monday.

The Genius now owns a small, apartment size Bernina!  This is a sweet little machine.  I didn’t like the new Berninas for a long time, but this one sews like a dream.  I purchased it from The Sewing Arts Center.  Russell was extremely helpful.  He showed off the fancy new Bernina 830.  I drooled….and walked away!

So, instead of getting into more trouble, I’ve  been working on this!

Last week I posted a photo of a pile of fabric, and now it’s a quilt top.  The pattern is Chopsticks by Jaybird Quilts.  It’s only seven fabrics plus the navy background.  I could have had it put together in one day if I’d stuck with it.  I had to take breaks to knit, sit in the sun, and read a book.

Here it is out on the balcony.  I’m not sure if I’ll send it back to The Genius after it’s quilted or if it will stay at my house.

I haven’t decided if I’m going on an adventure tomorrow or not.  I may just hang out and knit.  I’m going home on Saturday and there probably won’t be much sitting around there for a while!!!  I’ve been gone for over two weeks, so the laundry alone will keep me busy for a while.

I better finish cleaning up my quilting mess, and then it’s time to play chauffeur and pick up The Genius from work.  I’ve had so much fun hanging out with her!  It’s fun having an adult kid that has turned into a decent human being!  She’s fun and interesting!  I like her!

  1. Your quilt top is fabulous!! I know exactly what you mean about grown up children. They make the most special friends 🙂 Have a lovely weekend. Avis x

  2. I love that pattern. My friend made one and I can’t figure out why I haven’t yet. BUT, I am most intrigued by those cute, cute, cute scissors!!!! Where did you get them? I think I really need a pair, lol.
