Passing Down Crazy

Because Sometimes the Best Thing You Can Give Your Kid is an Addiction…To Yarn

And Then There Were Two

It’s September.  Where did summer go?

We’re down to two kids at home.  Dreamboy (kid three) is settled in his apartment at college with three other guys.  A one bedroom apartment with two sets of bunkbeds.  Sounds cozy, huh?  Not!

You’d think it would be getting quieter around here.  Let me just tell you.  It’s not.  Dreamboy was back home for Labor Day weekend.  Ms In Charge and Frankie think their last name is Bickerson.  And there’s this.

Whew!  Ms In Charge and Frankie just walked out the door to get on the bus.  They’re not thrilled to be riding the bus again, but Ms In Charge gets her license in January.  Deep breath!!!

I’ve been working on lots of projects but not settling on anything.  Probably the biggest project is Sivia Hardings mystery shawl knit-along.  I decided to spin all the yarn for it.  Here is 1,200 yards of loveliness.  It’s not too late to join.  The next clue won’t be out til Saturday.

The KAL started on Saturday and it only took me part of the day to do it.  I’m really looking forward to the next clue so I can use that vareigated yarn in the middle a bit more.  Also….there will be beads.  I love beads.

I’ve also made a couple of project bags.  I’m thinking it may become an addiction.  I started with this one.

The pattern is Jeni Baker’s Lined Drawstring Bag, found here.  There are about 8 sizes in the pattern, along with instructions to draft a custom size.

Last night, I decided to make a bigger bag.

This one is perfect for a sweater project.  And the knitting fabric is so cute!

I’m thinking today needs to be a chill out day.  I desperately need a day of silence!  I may hang out in my Happy Place, outside under my umbrella.  Tomorrow I’ll be an adult.  My walk in closet has become a climb over closet.  My bathroom isn’t a lot better.  And I need to strip the wallpaper in that bathroom.  The swag border from 17 years ago is getting on my nerves!

And then there’s the laundry room……

Shhhh!!!!!!!  It’s quiet day today.
